How many think McCain will simply be this elections Bob Dole? (Vanity)
Jan 30, 2008 | Ice Flyer

It has been some time since the 1996 Elections where a Bill Clinton won re-election over Robert Dole. While Dole was a leader in the Senate and in many ways a decent guy he would never have been the first choice of people on the right. However, it seemed that it was "his turn" and that he was somehow owed this opportunity.

He could not have been a more lack luster candidate.

Are we to get the same from McCain? The field of candidates does not impress most on the right...but least of all do I see McCain being the one to sweep us off our feet in any general election.

Hunter didn’t win because Republican voters rejected his extremists views on immigration. His defeat had nothing to do with his credentials in fighting the War on Terror.

Amen. While Dole was a moderate Republican and no conservative, he was at least an honest, honorable man while John McCain is a two-bit lying fraud that stabs his own party in the back every chance he gets and votes with the most detestible of liberal scum against his own. McCain’s reputation as a “war hero” doesn’t compensate for his record as a “beltway zero” for betraying his party and his constituency at every opportunity. Whereas I showed up to vote for Dole in 1996 even though I was almost certain he would probably lose, I will not show up to vote for John McCain regardless of who the Democrat nominee is, not after what that traitorous SOB has done to smear, slander, and betray his own party and the loyal conservative voter base. Besides, according to McCain and his stinking, filthy RINO ilk, we genuine conservatives are nothing but racists, bigots, and hatemongers for opposing his stupid open borders, massive illegal immigration, and blanket amnesty policies, so obviously he doesn’t want our support.

It really is all about you, isn't it.

It doesn't matter to you what the opinions of others are.

You're just a smart-ass.

That's not a squid thing, subboy, that's an attitude thing.

You've been submerged too long.

Those bends have fried your brain.

BTW, thank you for service, you putz.

“True conservatives will not sit idly by and allow Hillary Obama to become president. The few fringe “conservatives” that refuse to vote will be more than made up for by new independent and rational Democratic voters than a McCain candidacy will bring in.”

You know, I now know who you are. You are Tokyo Rose, trying to demoralize the Party to accept defeat of their principles and accept the “new order”.

Conservative principles will see utter defeat if Hillary is elected.

They'd see utter defeat if McCain is elected. Actually, a McCain presidency would be worse, because there are limits to what a Democrat congress and presidency can do (see 1993-1994). By comparison, there are no limits to what a Democrat congress could do with McCain as President. You can rest assured McCain would have no trouble signing a patch for the "Internet loophole" in McCain-Feingold I.

Juan McAmnesty has spent the better part of the last decade treating the the base as his personal commode. Since he is back there sticking knives in anyway, he might as well KMA while he’s at it.

Any good appointments will not get past the Democrat Senate and it will be a Democrat Senate. Unfortunately, a Republican president will feel it necessary to fill seats when it would be better to leave vacated seats empty rather than put 3rd choice Souters in just to fill the seats. There is no Constitutional requirement for any particular number of USSC justices. There could be 2 or there could be 1000. 9 is not a magic number.

MSM will get back in line once the Clintons are the Nominee Apparent. Any tidbit that was on an FBI file before 2000 will be dragged up and displayed 24/7 in MSM re: the Republican nominee, whoever it is and nothing that might be embarrassing to the Clintons will get more than a passing mention dismissing it as Old News.

Now, that’s hardly fair. Say what you like about McCain, but he is not soft on terrorism

“BUCK UP YOU SORELOSERS! MCCAIN IS GONNA WIPE THE FLOOR WITH THE BEAST! OR THE MUSLIM!”

Perhaps he will. So, we’ll have a lib agenda enacted by a Republican. Not my idea of a good time.

I’ve been to many caucuses, party events, etc. I know where my politics are compared to the average Republican. Where I am politically used to be smack dab in the middle of the party, with about half the people more or less conservative than me. Now, the party is leaning left. I haven’t changed.

IMO, that’s just being silly, and I say that even though I’m seething at McCain right now.

McCain would appoint O’Connors, Kennedys and Souters. (Which is not good.)

HillObama would appoint Brennans, Marshalls, Douglases and younger versions of Ginsburg. (Which would be catastrophic.)

When liberals have a choice between a democrat lib and a RINO lib, who do you think they’ll choose?

IF conservatives have a democrat liberal and a RINO lib to choosse from, we’re ALL in deep trouble!

My only hope now is the country can survive!
