Why even mention the adoption and Mother Teresa? Does he want some sort of credit for it? Was that their motivation? I know that the "black baby" issue was used against McCain in SC in 2000, but no one knows where that came form.
Having attended most of his events in SC and FL, I just find his pandering offputting to me. He is using his endorsements constantly. He mentions the fact about his Irish heritage [and I am Irish]. I could go on and on. It is typical old pol stuff that is meant to evoke emotion and identity politics. As a Vietnam veteran myself, I don't like the way he uses veterans a props. And he lies about his amnesty bill.
Whoever it is, it will be tough to beat the Dems. I just can't see McCain doing it, and the first endorsement I saw in my local paper (Hillary first), I knew the media was trying to influence the election. Damn, it's like a media conspiracy, that was the first I saw, then all the others fell in line for McCain even though most were Hillary backers.
Before I read all the talk, pro and con McCain here, my gut told me he was just too old, and now it appears he has serious health issues. Why would they front someone so risky?
Sometime I would like to see a discussion of how Republicans can court more of the minority votes or we are DOA imo. I'm not for amnesty McCain, but does anyone think maybe the doers and shakers in the party see the writing on the wall which is part, only part, of the reason they've gone soft on the borders? The American people want a wall. Congress says build a wall. No wall. So much for the will of the American people. Admittedly, a wall wouldn't "look" good after Israel and Berlin, but it's for a different reason.
Again, lest I repeat myself, conservatives are split in every which way...Some are still voting for Suckabee (probably because they’re born-agains like him), some for Romney, some for Ron Paul and unfortunately some for McShame. Until conservatives coalesce around one conservative pol (Romney’s the best we have), RINOs like McShame will have the upper hand.
What the $#$%! are the news orgs reporting the results right now when the panhandle is still open?
Crap. Just damn.
One thing I have learned through this election cycle, I have no poltiical friends and I don't much like either party. Everyone lies. Everyone will do anything to win.
Some better alternatives than the RNC= GOA, NRA, Ducks Unlimited. (the original DU)

McCain is ahead in exit polls by 1.7%. BUT...Romney ahead in absentee ballots by 6%.
McCain ahead by 600 votes with 15000 counted

No. He’ll still be in. But...
It will affect how he approaches Super Tuesday. All of the polls will make significant shifts after tonights results. Each of the candidates has strengths in certain Feb 5 States. There are several states that Huckabee is still strong in - but that could change after tonight. The states that Rudy is strong in will change after tonight.
Decisions will have to be made on where to spend time and money, and it’s likely now that Feb 5 will not be decisive. The next big primaries are in March when Texas and Ohio vote on the same day. It’s possible that those large and delegate rich states could have a big say.
MSM will try to cast a Florida McCain win as decisive, and a Romney win as “wide open”. In truth, I don’t think either can claim “decisive” with a 33% victory.
Romney has shifted on too much for political expediency. McCain, although really bad on immigration is tough on spending and has always been against abortion.
You don’t get it do you. Hillary, McCain who cares?
Those are exit polls with 2 hours left to vote. Late voters may vote differently. I suspect the early voters are more weighted towards retirees and the later voters more towards those still working. Mitt should do better with the late voters.

Right now, on Fox, McCain ahead by about 200 votes but numbers are changing really fast. I so hope McCain doesn’t pull this off but I’m really, really worried.
