Breaking News: Rudy Giuliani hints at dropping out
LA Times ^ | 28 January 2008 | Andrew Malcolm

Rudy Giuliani appears to be pondering an end to his long pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.

In a meeting in the back of his chartered plane en route to St. Petersburg, Fla., a short while ago, the onetime, longtime GOP front-runner told a small group of reporters, including The Times' Louise Roug: "The winner of Florida will win the nomination."

Hint a little louder.

I won’t vote for him/her anyway.

The New York liberals in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties CAN’T VOTE IN A REPUBLICAN PRIMARY.

They will be more interested in the Dem primary, to make sure Obama doesn't win. I'm sure those retired Jewish ex-New Yorkers would just LOVE to have somebody named Hussein, with indirect ties to Farrakhan, be the Dem nominee

I think hit job. It doesn’t change the fact that Rudy’s strategy to lay low through the early states has been a disaster for his campaign. It is only a matter of time (days? weeks?) before he does drop out. So this is a little like the weatherman saying “we will have weather tomorrow” and wanting praise for his accuracy.

Dear Rudy: please stop running for higher offices now, if you don’t mind. You know inside that your heart’s not really in it, you just like getting the attention and adulation of being “America’s mayor”. Your heart’s in New York City, and you don’t really want to be anywhere else.

A rebirth of the Federalists maybe? We could go with “Whigs,” but that whole Hartford convention thing brings too many negatives...

Not a chance that Rudy will drop out before he finds out what the big, liberal states do in their primaries.

If for no other reason why wouldn’t he want those delegates to have at the convention for a cabinet post or whatever he wants?

It would make absolutely zero sense for Giuliani to be hinting at dropping out at this point. He’s in it until the polls close in Florida.

Exactly. This is a hit piece.

NO conservative needs Giuliani.

I want him to drop out permanently. I will never forgive him for giving us Hildebeast. How?

If you do your homework, you’d know Rudy put hillary INTO the senate in many ways such as stalling until the last minute so Rick Lazio couldn’t catch up to her. The cancer thing? His public schedule right after that proves he just gave it away to her.
I would never trust him for anything.

Rudy rolled the dice, hoping for a big win in Florida without spending much time anywhere else. Needless to say, this strategy didn’t exactly work.

Besides being an anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-illegal, etc. LIBERAL RINO, the bastard has shown EXTREMELY poor judgement (with placement of emergency response in one of the towers, bernie, women, crossdressing, etc.), and thus, is NOT WORTHY and/or CAPABLE of being our REPUBLICAN LEADER in the White House, especially during time of war.

Good riddance RINO.

Totally agree.

All he is is a poster boy for how the Democrat Media can create the illusion for long periods of time that nothing is something.

I could see Rudy as Director of Homeland Security or Attorney General

That's "brilliant".

As Homeland Security Director, let RINO-rudy decide to put the offices of Homeland Security in a location that had previously been bombed by terrorists, and let him "fix" any communication problems that prevent various emergency service providers from speaking with each other in an emergency (give him YEARS to do it and he'll STILL screw it up), and let him F up our NATIONAL SECURITY by selecting who will work for him (another "bernie"?)in the HSA.

And, as Attorney General, let him UNDECLARE John Ashcroft declaring that, as our Founding Fathers intended, our 2nd Amendment rights, ARE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.

RINO-rudy is an anti-gun, anti-FREEDOM jack-booted thug who would LOVE to be back in Washington as the top gun-grabber-in-charge.

That LIBERAL RINO bastard has NO BUSINESS being ANYWHERE NEAR a seat of NATIONAL POWER, especially as a SUPPOSED "Republican".

However, there a lot of folks in those SoFla counties that you (and maybe I) would consider "New York Liberals" who ARE registered Republicans. Remember in 2000, a lot of folks were distressed that Bush's vote totals didn't fully reflect the republican registation in those areas (and claimed it was fraud, just like the dems claimed fraud when the registered dems in north florida didn't all vote dem)

So there certainly is a "RINO" base in many Florida areas -- whehter, and how, they will vote is another matter.
