Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney often casts himself as an agent of change who would fix a "broken Washington" but he spares an obvious target -- President George W. Bush.
"I salute the fact the president has kept us safe these past six years," he told a rally on Saturday in Florida, whose primary on Tuesday is the next test in the most wide open race for the Republican presidential nomination in 50 years.
A day earlier, speaking to reporters, he was even kinder to the unpopular president, saying that while he differed with Bush at times he still deeply respects him.

First this wide range 1 millions to 3.5 millions is a proof why not to take those statistics seriously. Your post is full of lies.

"bitter losers from fringe minority on the right."Your classification of critics of the L.O.S.T. and the NAU as fringe minority tells me all I need to know about your attitude. I do have two questions for you, jveritas- In your opinion, has GWB ever done anything wrong, or is he perfect? Have you ever, here on FR, ever criticized anything about GWB?

Skip the de rigueur “don’t agree with him on everything”, despite his mistakes, “although he screwed up for years after invading Iraq”, etc. W has done a great job, despite the traitorous Dems and their propaganda arm, the 5th column press.

LOL, that's okay. You believe what you want to.
Traditionally the border agents have only stopped about 10 to 15% of the illegals coming across the border. In one nine month period about a year and a half ago, the border patrol picked up 900,000 illegals. What does that indicate if old percentages voiced by those on the front lines held true during that priod.
First you would convert the 900,000 in nine months to 1.2 million in twelve. If that is only a fraction, we could be talking about anywhere from seven to ten times this number actually got through in one year, by the old 1 in 7 to10 figure.
I have not suggested 8.4 to 12 million are coming across per year, but it's quite unreasonable to claim the border agents are achieving anywhere near a 50% level of aprehension. What this means is that on the low end there are about a million coming through per year.
Time magazine published an article that stated 3.5 million were coming across each year. I don't agree with that.
What I do agree with is that there are anywhere from 1 to 3.5 million coming across each year. We don't know the precise number.
That's just the simple truth of it. As for lying, I think your side has the corner on that market.

I do not attack a sitting President in time of a very important war against islamic terrorism. Yes I disagree with President Bush on few issues but I am not going to talk about it.

I like Bush, but I still think George Washington was our best President ever (at worst the second best). Same old same old—New Englanders not wanting to give credit to the Virginian Presidents.
To: jveritas
I agree 100%. President Bush has the courage to attack problems neglected by Presidents beforeWhat planet do you live on??? He stood ready to sign the AMNESTY bill and loved it!

Ann Coulter got it right. The worst we are going to get from Romney is a George Bush redux with better communication skills and without the emphasis on amnesty for illegal aliens. Nothing to write home about, but what we
might get from Mitt Romney is still far better than what we
know we will get from McCain.
Here are the Senators who voted against the Cornyn amendment , which would have established a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals looking to snag a shamnesty visa. Republicans underlined:
Never forget McCain not only pushed the amnesty bill, he refused to allow exculsions for the worst of the lot.

The first that I am aware of was Reagan. On the second question, I don’t know, (or care). I am totally against it, no matter who started it.

I respect your opinion on that. For myself, I feel obligated to criticise pending actions that I feel will be harmful to America, rather than quietly accepting those actions that I don’t see as relative to the war on islamic terrorism, WHICH I SUPPORT. I am a veteran, pledged to uphold the Constitution, therefore I feel that I earned the right to criticise my government in certain areas (not directly related to the war effort).

Well..Romney did just hire Liz Cheney as a staff member. She hails from “the broken Washington D.C.” he speaks of.
Corporate Exec. outsider with ties to Bush/Cheney.
Will the last remaining Republicans please shut the lights off as they leave D.C. We are sunk.

A point goes in Mitt’s column for his articulation of how President Bush has kept this nation safe for 6 years and how war never goes smoothly or without mistakes (pp).
Now tell me, al Reuters, just WHY is the the POTUS’s fault that auto manufacturing jobs are in the toilet in Michigan? No anti-Bush bias there, no-siree.
