ANYONE THINK IT IS TIME FOR ANOTHER PARTY?

Posted on 01/23/2008 1:05:47 PM PST by gbscott1954

I was sitting here thinking something that I have thought before several times in recent months. The Republican Party began as a third party championing the cause of abolition and westward expansion. Just was wondering some of your thoughts about if it is time to begin thinking about a new true conservative party dedicated to true conservative principles?

How about we get two new parties to replace BOTH of the major ones, since neither represents us anymore?

The siren call of a little overblown man in a cowboy had with a lot of charts called seductivly to me...and all I got was eight years of an adolecent boy president sniggering at me while he destroyed the country.

The first time I read this, I honestly thought you were talking about Bush. It's not that bad of a description, actually.

At one time, I thought that the two-party system limited political expression, and that a third might speak better to the common man. As I aged, I found that the two-party system is a true outgrowth of the political spectrum of the human spirit, that is, either you are the kind of person who thinks government is the solver of problems, or the kind that thinks governement is a required evil to handle some aspects of life. Nanny or Cowboy?

I found out during that election that the complex structure of democracy will allow an evil, selfish man to win with 42%, if good men are diverted away from the truth. "Teaching a lesson" to my party only taught a even worse one to me.
