At one time, I thought that the two-party system limited political expression, and that a third might speak better to the common man. As I aged, I found that the two-party system is a true outgrowth of the political spectrum of the human spirit, that is, either you are the kind of person who thinks government is the solver of problems, or the kind that thinks governement is a required evil to handle some aspects of life. I found out during that election that the complex structure of democracy will allow an evil, selfish man to win with 42%, if good men are diverted away from the truth. "Teaching a lesson" to my party only taught a even worse one to me.
