This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

Maybe its time for a lot of FReepers to look at themselves in the mirror. I just did. And I love what I saw!

I'm still waiting for someone (maybe you?) to expain why Huckabee should be trusted with one of the most powerful federal executive powers, i.e., the presidential pardon, when he went hog-wyld in Arkansas with his 'No Felon Left Behind' pardon and parole initiative.
How 'bout it DCP? Care to take a crack at it?

Here we all thought we knew Duncan... Then he shakes our faith afterall, even after he’s quit!!! Obviously he’s heard Rush say that either Huckleberry or McLame with hurt the conservative nature of the Republican Party... What could he have been thinking? Amazing!!!

And I've seen no evidence that any of the other candidates like each other at all. I agree. If anything, most of them seem to dislike Huckabee.

Lets see how well Hillary protects your guns. After shes done with you, you can shove them.Six of one, Half dozen of the other.
I will never vote for a gun grabbing baby killing RINO.
If that means Hillary, then so be it.

Huckabee is the best communicator in the pack and with someone behind him that knows what to communicate; They overlook him at their own peril". He's not applying for the job of a Prime Time News Anchor..The POTUS is not supposed to be scripted.

“And, what the hell, Fred may endorse Peter Pan Paul later this afternoon.
I need a drink!”
Like I said previously, no matter whom Fred endorses, my decision to vote for Mitt stands.
I need a drink too! Wish I could have just a half glass of my favorite Florida muscadine wine! Still on an antibiotic from my dental work, so don’t dare.

Mr. Hunter...thank you for your service, and say “bye-bye” to whatever chance you may have had in 2012.
Oh, and good riddance.

Another thread...we can dance. This one’s too much fun for me...watching you and all the other so-called political mavens throw up on yourselves.

Ok, this has officially become the craziest, most bizarre election ever. "Conservatives" supporting socialists and RINO's.... Even longstanding FR members who I respected going to support RINO's who have great hair.
I think that not only the status-quo wing of the GOP, but half this country has lost its flippin mind. ohhh man. lol

If people have concerns that you may be liberal on some issues, having a Duncan Hunter, backing you up can reassure people. I doubt if even Duncan Hunter has glossy enough lipstick for that unctuous, smarmy pig.

Total grossout. I’m not joining Hunter... Huckabee has no money which may be why he appealed to Hunter. They have something in common.
