This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

That’s from 1994 when he was running against Ted Kennedy. The reporter was trying to infer that Romney’s personal beliefs against abortion would influence him too much politically. Romney was basically saying he would support the law. Romney has since changed his views even more to the right on abortion.
BTW, Romney is the only candidate that the Log Cabin Republicans have run attack ads against. There is a reason for that.

NPR, USATODAY, and TIME, the core of the liberal media, have all started promoting Romney, after polls came out showing that 47% of people will vote against Romney.

You too? Give the guy some credit on how he has done things in the past. If he thinks this is the only way to save the babies, and get the fence built....Maybe he was even offered a VP to help get it done. Who else could hold Huckabee to his promises?
Why would a man risk angering his base and fighting off the vultures that never liked him to begin with if something important wasn't up. Just think about it, ok?

Sounds like a great idea. Think I'll take a break and go to sunny, sandy Florida to get away from all this political dreck.
Oh, wait, I live in Florida.......drat, that won't work.........

Was Huckabee the only candidate to promise hed pardon Ramos and Compean? Could it really be that simple?
THe other candidates said the mature thing in that they would have the case re-looked at -- Mike Huckabee nor any of the candidates know enough about the case to declare they would pardon now.
Huckabee was probably the only campaign to offer Duncan anything. That is why Jim Gilchrest endorsed him (he admitted Huckabee was the only candidate who accepted his offer for help).
The biggest question for me is why would Duncan hitch his wagon to the one campaign that is falling faster than the rest. And why would he burn his bridges with the other campaigns thereby reducing or eliminating his chance of being offered a position in their administration?

Ha! Ha!
Hunter’s minions were yanking the chains of Thompson-followers because they thought he’d endorse a RINO (McCain) — then Hunter goes and does exactly that.
Ironic.

Like when he said we should change the constitution to be more like the Bible. Of course he didnt mean it, he just meant amend it to put in the HLA, but any person with a brain would know NOT to say it that way.
I think many have overreacted to the statement Huckabee said, "we need to do is amend the Constitution so its in Gods standards rather than trying to change Gods standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family." He is advocating policy based on a Biblical worldview rather than a secular worldview. I believe this is entirely in line with conservative politics. He wasn't advocating for state sponsored churches, or forced prayer, or second-class citizenship for nonChristians, but for amendments against abortion and gay "marriage".
I like this take on the subject

They are all corrupt..even Paul with his Pork(he is no where near as bad as most).
I like Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and to a lesser extent Mike Pence of Indiana.
I would say Coburn is the purest politician we have.
We need term limits.

Mr. Spectre just came home and said that if Thompson endorses Huckabee, we are leaving the GOP..It could be worse. You could have been the poor guy from the RNC who just called me on my cell phone an hour ago and asked for another donation. I feel bad now about reading him the riot act. It's not his fault, he just works there. I told him in no uncertain terms that any party that allows any jackass leftists like Bloomberg, Huckabee or McCain to walk around with an R next to their name will never see a penny of my money. I only support conservatives. (<-----notice the period).
