This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.
He's anti-un, I love that.
He's very pro 2nd. I love that.
What a riot! I took an Advil earlier before Malkin called for OTC meds. This is shocking to me. However, Huckabee won’t make it without more money. The people are putting their cash into fueling their cars, not into candidates.
Look at the facts and you will find that Hunter and Huck both have more than a few issues that they 100% agreed on.
Pro-life,gun,family aren’t minor issues to the Republican base!
Hunter is the same man he was yesterday and perhaps people should check into why he endorsed Huck before they judge him?
This makes much more sense to me than Tanc endorsing Mutt Romney! They had zero, zip, nadda in common!
Huckabee is Democrat Lite.
I certainly would. I have seen this done countless times though. They fight like dogs, have honest differences on issues and values, and then this.
It can be very disconcerting to supporters I can tell ya.
Every candidate has their kook followers; that’s NOT how I determine who to vote for.
As to the rest: I don’t support them nor want them in office. Voting for the lesser of two evils results in an evil no matter. It also would mean that I’d be voting AGAINST the Rat candidate rather than voting for my own.
I’ll vote FOR Ron Paul.
Calling me a lib has put me off talking with you. Unfortunate... because I don’t find much disagreement with what you said... other than you can’t respect my opinion on something we disagree on... and if I am a Liberal... Reagan was a commie.
LLS
Another smack at the establishment pic.....the blatantly dishonest liberal Romboy.
I hope Thompson does the same.
Hell, who knows anymore. FR is starting to look like a bunch of trapped animals trying to find a way out.
Great organization and planning by the GOP. Makes me wonder if this was planned all along. Actually, put me down for saying that, at least that might make some sense of this chaos!
I will be waiting for more info on this shocker...
> I suspect Hunter won’t make public the real reason or reasons he supports Huckabee <
I think Dunk has already given us his number one reason, namely, his protectionist sentiment. Huck seems to be the only other candidate who comes close.
Why..?
Your credibility is shot now. Wake up.
Well...
Obviously I am sleeping and having a nightmare, following the inauguration of President Fred Thompson and Vice President Duncan Hunter, with the Secretary of State John Bolton, smiling in the background.
Whew. Glad this is last few days is just a horrible dream, and now I can just WAKE UP!!!
Chocolate, anyone?
..as a famous California politician name Jesse Unruh once said—$$$ is the mother’s milk of politics...
At sometime around the Bhutto assassination, I believe Huckabuck placed Pakistan on the wrong side of India. Reminiscent of Ford’s debate gaffe concerning the location of Poland.
There are things about Ron Paul I like and believe are important: 1) He’s a Constitutionalist; 2) fights for America’s sovereignty; 3) is against the UN; 4) is against the NAU; 5) is against abortion; 6) is pro-2nd Amendment. On all these things, he is not a johnny-come-lately in his positions.
Hi there, floriduh!
I agree with you, and will not vote for the Huckster.
Rush Limbaugh has NOT endorsed Mitt Romney.
