Breaking news on FOX: Fred Thompson quits
Fox News ^

Posted on 01/22/2008 11:17:25 AM PST by tpanther

Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

I would rather a RAT was elected than one of the liberal puke twins.

That gives a conservative a chance in 2012.

...you mean you are de facto voting for Hillary. I appreciate your convictions, but that will be the net result.

“You forgot the part about how that is impacted when you have a corrupt and biased media (that includes FOX) who refuses to acknowledge your candidacy. What then when they do everything in their power to skew an election by misrepresenting our convictions and before many Americans even have a chance to cast a single primary vote.”

Sure, but that’s going to happen in the general election too. GWB had to overcome that to beat Gore and Kerry. Reagan had to overcome that. If Fred couldn’t overcome that in the Republican primary, why would anyone have confidence he could have done it against Hillary or Obama?

I don’t agree with you. I think Mitt can beat Hillary. She comes across as a hateful ole hag who no one wants to listen to for the next 4 years. The HATE is much greater for Hillary than it has been for Bush. Romney can win over housewives and single women.

Rush had an interesting theory regarding Mitt and women--imagine how angry the Drive-Bys and Clinton Inc. will be when the ladies swoon for Mitt and not Bill!

Something is happening out there: "Mittens" are smitten.

-—”I am a conservative first, and Republican second. There are no conservatives left in the race, so I will not vote for any Republican candidate. “

C’mon now, don’t be a stubborn fool and shoot yourself in the foot!

I can’t believe all these stubborn posters who think they’ll accomplish something with a protest vote or by not voting Republican at all.

CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVES: Hitlery or Mocha Obama!!! Be logical!

MY only problem with john McCain is that HE CANNOT DEFEAT HILLARY, or even Obama..

He is going to be portrayed as an angry and vengeful, gay-hating man, dangerous to all the peace-loving people’s of the world.

Everything he’s been involved in from the Keating Five, to illegitimate children, to immigration is going to be used against him by the Shadow Party groups on the left.

The Democrats are SALIVATING to run against him...

And he CANNOT bring our folks together.

Well first Hunter, now Thompson... I am looking into both Paul and Romney now. The others just make me sick.

“Hunter got like 4 votes in SC (/s)...it’s over for him.”

No, Duncan Hunter got over 1,000 votes...

He should have done good in SC but he had been shut out of the last few debates and shut out of the news...

people either did not know him or thought he had already dropped out...

I was in SC last week...I talked to many of the voters there...

“* Paul: National security is issue #1, and Paul fails miserably”

You think that only because you don’t understand his goals around National Security.

“I don’t see either one being any better than Hillary.”

Then you are incapable of drawing distinctions in the real world.

“I have a Fred 08 coffee mug. He was my candidate. His ideas were all good, are still good. He just didn’t get out there and campaign. Sad.”

Fred had huge support at the time he announced his entry but his “laid back” style right out of the gate killed his chances. First impressions are meaningful.

If GW Bush were up for re-election right now, would you vote for him?

No, no, and HELL no.

“If conservatives couldn’t win in the GOP primaries, then what makes you think they can win in a 3rd party?”

When liberals are voting in Republican primaries, what do you expect?

We need to yell “FIRE!” in this “big tent.”

Holy Shiite.

So much for trusting that Fred would try to stay through Super Tuesday.

This is most disappointing.

do hope that Fred stays away from McCaniac.

It may not be emotionally satisfying to vote for the lesser of two evils but a lot depends on how bad the worse evil is. Nobody running on the Republican ticket is as dangerous as the Clintons.  Thomas Sowell couple of days ago.
