Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

If we want to WIN, we have to work WITHIN the Party Processes, and COMPROMISE with those we call RINO’s to advance any kind of a conservative agenda. We are but a small slice of a much bigger pie, and we must all work together to stop the advance of Democrat Corruption and Socialism...

A) Most RINOs have no interest in advancing any kind of conservative agenda.

B) Most RINO's like democratic socialism.

Would any conservative still interested in the 2008 election please reply back to me and tell me which of the remaining candidates is the least shitty?

Whether you like him or simply consider him to be the least of evils, Romney is the only remaining VIABLE alternative to McCain.

It's time to stop threatening to stay home and unite behind Romney to beat the Rats.

“Check off another one from my preference list.

Tancredo
Hunter
Thompson
Romney
My neighbor’s cat
Fantasy McCain from his campaign rhetoric
Giuliani
Huckabee
Castro (if still alive)
The Real McCain from his record”

Could you share your cat’s name. I’m at the point where
if there isn’t a brokered convention, I’ll need someone
to write in...

Bummer. If it boils down to McCain and Romney I’ll be hard pressed to find a reason to bother voting. I don’t see either one being any better than Hillary.

There is no need for this. Failed campaigns hurt. Rubbing it in does not help whoever your candidate it.

I have been backing Romney for some time. I hope the Romney people are kind to the Thompson folks, whose support will be welcomed.

Thank you for the respect. I'm saddened but not surprised. I suppose it's time to start looking at other candidates.

You and me both! Same here in NW GA. On to Mitt....

I WILL NOT sit out this election. I don’t think folks that make this comment understand what kind of damage McCain, Hillary, or Obama can do in 4 short years.

“Romney is clearly the optimal choice at this point.”

Ditto....

I don’t personally care for Romney all that much, but the Pope will get married, and invite Muslims and Jews to Celebrate his wedding with a Pork Chop Feast before I vote for McCain, Huckabee, or Guiliani...

Romney is OK, and may just make a good conservative President.

Romney will say and do whatever he must to get elected. I don’t trust him.

This is what used to be referred to as a stone bummer. I have no idea what I’ll do in November - may as well cut my balls off - if the Hildebeast gets in they’ll be outlawed anyway.

Romney is clearly the optimal choice at this point.... Well, least sub-optimal anyway.

I guess it depends on which part of the bottom of the barrel you scrape.

Being right on the issues is not enough. You have to be able and willing to campaign. And Fred was NOT the man in that regard.

Yes. The idea of Fred was a lot more appealing than the reality. The whole reason behind the idea of Fred was that he was supposed to be this incredibly charming spokesman for conservatism and without that, he's just another conservative ideologue in wide field.

Very very sad.

I hope and pray he’d consider Veep but I doubt he would.

I hope he speaks to us soon.
