Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

so far,another rumor

You must be one FREDHEAD Fan. You are in it until he says it. Some have been saying this since September. It is no surprise at all, but it is good to see you are loyal. I guess that says something.

All that stuff about Fred being a lazy campaign guy turned out to be true. It was yours for the taking Fred if you only put a little oomph into it.

Thanks for nothing, can I have my cash back?

The narrowing field is bringing agreement among the Freepers. I started out with Giuliani, abandoned him for Romney. Now Fred’s out, and hopefully his supporters will coalesce around Romney. If so, then it was a round about route, but we got there.

As long as it’s not McCain or Huckabee, I’m still a Republican.

It’s official...off his web site....how sad.

Statement from Sen. Fred Thompson

McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:

“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”

Ford wasn't insane.

I think the States that had early Primaries, and allowed Independents to vote for a Republican nominee are to blame for this.

all work together to stop the advance of Democrat Corruption and Socialism...

What's to stop the advance of REPUBLICAN Corruption and Socialism as long as we keep nominating RINOS?

This is very sad news. It looks like I will support Romney at this point if this report is true.

I get a chuckle reading some of these posts. You can pretty much separate them between the personality types that are emotional (we are out of here, damn the consequences!!!) and the logical calculating strategic type (move on to the next choice). Politics is a funny thing and hopefully eventually cooler heads will prevail.

There are now five candidates:

1. Giuliani: is an urepentant radical social liberal. His redeeming value is that he was at 9/11.

2. Romney: is a radical social liberal who repented JUST AS he entered the race. His redeeming value is that he’s filthy rich and willing to teach all of us how to become rich (gods) in our own right.

3. McCain: is a covert radical social liberal who doesn’t believe in secure borders. His redeeming value is that as a POW he learned how to get crazy to defend America.

4. Huckabee: is a radical fiscal liberal who doesn’t believe in secure borders. Of all the candidates, he has been consistently pro-life his entire career.

5. Paul: is a radical defense liberal who believes “nice” will win the day if we’ll just remove our defenses from overseas. His redeeming value is that he is conservative on other issues that don’t PO his online anti-Jew, skinhead friends.

In short.

We’re screwed.

“”Yeah,He was lousy,I think I will write him in ,that way I won’t vote for extremely lousy””

Do as you wish...but I think this is good because Fred’s heart wasn’t in the race and it was obvious that he was diluting the anti-McCain vote.

My post-mortem on Fred Thompson's campaign: Fred lost because he hired the world's worst campaign managers, including idiots like Tim Griffin.

They wasted too much time on negative attack ads.

They wasted too much time in Iowa when they should have been in South Carolina.

Now I have to change my tagline.

FRED THOMPSON

Fred Is Out

I’m hearing secondhand from an employee of the campaign that Fred Thompson is departing the race.

And now, confirmation:

Statement from Sen. Fred Thompson

McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:

“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”
