If it’s MCain/Leiberman we can recycle our Sore/Loserman campaign.

Fred has steady, highly loyal support but maybe not enough to get him to the top.

I can understand backing Hunter but McCain has backstab us so many times what makes you think he is going to fight this war he will have a pow wow with the Dems and that will be the end of it!

He is loose on the borders etc.

However, President Bush withdrew Miers after the conservative outcry.

McCain would not withdraw his lame nominee if conservatives complained. He'd laugh at us while he stabs us in the back.

In Greenville he is running even with McCain, and thats not good for Hucky

Excellent! I thought he would do well here and we have enough votes to make a difference.

I agree. There is nothing GOOD about Thompson losing, and certainly nothing to “gloat about”. Thompson is a good conservative, and gave himself to us as a candidate for the highest office in the land. He deserves respect, not ridicule.

And while I can understand the desire to “get back” at people here, that is counterproductive to the task of putting together a conservative coalition, first to stop Rudy and McCain, and second to win the general election, and to get other conservative elected.

We won’t get votes for conservative candidates for house and senate if we have a person at the top of the ticket who is running against our platform and our policies. We need a candidate who will be talking about conservative principles. And that candidate needs all of our support, because if we stay home, our conservatives in elections for other offices will suffer.

And we won’t come together if everybody is getting people back for mistreatments real or perceived.

“I missed the middle part of Fred’s speech...where the microphone was acting up.”

Were you watching Fox, by any chance? I was listening to CNN’s audio stream and heard everything just fine. Not that I would accuse Fox of attempting to sabotage Fred... Never!

At Bastogne the 101st was put under siege by a far-larger force of Germans under the command of General Heinrich Freiherr von Lüttwitz, who soon demanded that the Americans surrender. McAuliffe sent back to Lüttwitz his now-famous reply: "NUTS!" The 101st was able to hold off the German assault until the 4th Armored Division arrived to provide reinforcement. For his actions at Bastogne, McAuliffe was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by General Patton on December 30, 1944, followed later by the Distinguished Service Medal.

"I can't believe so many republicans would vote for McCain after all that he's done? And Huck is the next Clinton

I couldn't either but my husband just reminded me that SC is Lindsey Graham's state and Lindsey likes McCain so SC will go for McCain.

Keith Olbermann just said “what the hell was that? We just got snookered!” ~~~~ I can’t TELL you how that just warms the crazed cockles of my little ole heart.

:) That was a nice piece of political judo by Thompson -- he used the media's own wrong assumptions against them.

The comparison doesn’t hold, commish. As much as I hate to say it, Huckabee is actually a contender. He could have possibly stolen McCain’s thunder. Fred, not so much. I never got the impression he was even trying very hard... and he was always uncomfortably cozy with McCain. Mark my words. Fred will endorse McCain.
