It’s baffling to me. Perhaps it indicates the order in which they applied to be on the ballot. Or perhaps among those in the double digits, it’s an alphabetical grouping of four, then the also-rans afterward.

McCain is nuts. He would be dangerous as CIC.

Florida is a winner take all state. Giuliani is down here already, but Fred will be able to give him a good fight here. GO FRED!

"Because he came on and shamed Chris Wallace? Because he questioned the conservative creds of Fred Barnes?"

I watched that program and you could tell Chris Wallace was really upset with Fred.

Yeah...doesn’t look like Huckabee will be able to pull it out.

I was hoping he’d win, because that would keep McCain from gaining any momentum.

“Maybe someone like Harriet Miers?”

Ouch. Good point.

However, President Bush withdrew Miers after the conservative outcry.

My sense is that McCain treats every good faith disagreement as a challenge to his honor or integrity, and thus would stick with a bad Supreme Court nominee:

1) as a matter of personal pique and,

2) because he seems to enjoy outraging conservatives just for the fun of it.

You mean the Alito nomination. Roberts had already been nominated.

This is far from over, it is up to what Fred wants to do, the support is there to outlast the insanity if it ever ceases...

Bite your tongue! Off!

Then wait until it grows back and bite it off again.

If Fred does come in third, why would he be out of the race?

I missed the middle part of Fred's speech...where the microphone was acting up.

Did anyone change channels and catch the whole thing? Did he ever say anything about going on to Florida? Or Louisiana? Or anywhere?

If he didn't, doesn't that make you at least wonder?!

Sounds great to me.

It could easily happen with Lame and Huck in there.

No one ever mentions McCains negatives, who I suspect has high ones, just like Hillary.

I think sophomoric gloating is okay for this one day.

To what purpose?

Take my advise - find another way to entertain yourself.

Exactly. I want a CIC that is afraid to mess up the hair of the terrorists and wants to get them free subscriptions to pre-paid legal. NOT.

“If Fred does come in third, why would he be out of the race? Has Giuliani won any race yet? If Guiliani isn’t out yet, why would Fred be out?”

Because Giuliani was always going to lose these races... He put ALL of his eggs in a basket for Florida and Super Tuesday. He hasn’t been declared a loser yet, because he hasn’t rolled the dice yet. We’ll see the wisdom of his approach at the end of the month. Then, and only then, can Giuliani’s strategy be appraised. However, it goes without saying, that he was beyond foolish to allow McCain and Romney to gain this kind of momentum. However, it also goes without saying, that Giuliani is a dirtbag who needs drummed out of this race as soon as possible. I hope Florida will make that happen.
