Chicago Lawyer goes before judge for damage to Marines car. Judge is a former Marine.
Blackfive.net ^

Posted on 01/18/2008 3:11:00 PM PST by Bozworth

The case was called at 13:33, and the Defendant did not show up. There were 2 heavy hitter State's Attorneys here to handle it. The Judge increased his bond to $20,000.00 or 10 percent cash, and put out a warrant for his arrest.

The Defendant called at 13:40 to say that he will be a half an hout late and was waiting for the media to leave. The Judge said in open court that if he does shows up he will be taken into custody, and if he doesn't he is fair game for any law enforcement agency that wants to pick him up.

But hardly anything would want to lay a lawyer. No telling where they might have been.

Hooo Rah!

well, in all honesty, the judge will probably have to recuse himself or the verdict will be open for appeal

The Lawyer entered a guilty plea as part of a deal, the smartest thing he has done to date.

Cost to repair the car - $2400
Fine paid to Semper Fi - $600
Cost of Supervision - $600

Having this go before Former Marine Lance Corporal and Current Circuit Court Judge William O’Malley and having him spank his ass like a spoiled little child....

PRICELESS

It’s only 99.99% of all attorneys that give the rest of them a bad name.

It's a great feeling to be in that elite .01% though!

Better yet he should be met in a dark ally by some of the scum he probably represents.

The judge said if he doesn't show up he's fair game for "any LE agency that wants to pick him up".

Where's The Dog these days, still in Hawaii?

I hope he spends the weekend in jail.

Yeah.... and the fact that it is Cook County Jail?!!!

BWHAHAHAHAHA. This guy will get some sort of punishment from his nearby cell mates, no doubt.

I hope he has a miserable time in jail & if I were the judge I would have fixed so he had no choice but to spend the weekend there. Another good job for this moron lawyer would be to have to clean park toilets. Or something which he would find very distasteful!

The Judge then, in as angry a voice as I have ever heard him use, scolded the defendant, saying that the Marine license plates the complaining witness had were not vanity plates or about ego, but the proceeds go toward the Marine and Navy scholarship fund for the children of fallen soldiers, sailors and marines. These Marines protect his very existence "so people like you can enjoy their freedom." He further said that the reason there were so many in the courtroom and so much public interest is that the Marines have a tradition since 1775 that "No Marine gets left behind." Several Hoorahs in the courtroom.

This just warms my heart!

“I read elsewhere he did $2,400 damage to the car. Can we presume he;ll be seeing the Marine in Small Claims Court?”

No..Because as the article and subsequent commentors pointed out- the Marine’s Insurance company will subrogate the claim and will go after the disgraced lawyer who already admitted he did the damage by his plea deal...The Ins company will collect from that lawyer too, or his career could be over- if it isn’t already in the works...

For all those of you who don't live in Chicago, here's the deal - this guy lives in Highland Park and has at least one office located in Deerfield. Both of these towns are considered "hoity-toity" North Shore suburbs located northward of Chicago. Highland Park's eastern border is Lake Michigan's lakefront and Deerfield runs just west of Highland Park.

So for this guy to spend even ONE NIGHT in Crook, er, Cook County Jail with all the gangbangers from the Chicago area?! Let's just say that it's about as far from staying in the Four Seasons Hotel as possible ;-).

His jail stay will indeed be some pretty good punishment!!!

But do we know if he got out even? He may have. I am just wishing he didn’t. If he didn’t I hope he runs into some guy he defended & lost the case for. Or somebody who totally hates lawyers which is most people...
