They shot him in the back(side)?
Sounds real honorable.

Duncan Hunter can’t even get top billing in a news headline.
How do you expect him to get top billing on the GOP ticket?

Good for them.
On a similar topic, I just saw an article on MSN that says the death penalty in the U.S. is forcing crimianl fugitives to flee to Mexico. No kidding: Fugitives Flee to Mexico to Avoid Death.
Like they would stay here if life in prison was their option.
I’m too lazy to post it.

It’s a shame isn’t it? Our best and most practical minded leaders are congressmen and we are told only half wits from the senate, ex-governors, or a happenstance mayor are the only ones electable. Maybe this is why we need to go back to letting the congress selecting our senators. The ones we picked out sure haven’t been that brilliant. Rorhbacher is one of my favorites. At least some congressmen like these two and Paul have some fight left in them. I can think of close to 10 congressmen I would trust as POTUS. I can not think of one senator current or former right now I would trust as POTUS.

Hunter and Rohrbacher are chicken shiite cowards who would rather milk this incident for all the PR they can get out of it instead of doing the one quick and certain thing that would have Ramos and Compean released at the earliest possible convenience.
Submit legislation clarifying that the Federal 10 year mandatory for using a gun during a crime does not apply to LEO's who use their guns in the nornal course of their duties.
This could have been done a year ago, would fly through congress and be signed immediately by Bush. It would get R&C out of prison and protect all future LEO's from the same danger.
My question is WHY HAS IT NOT BEEN DONE? Why are R&C being allowed to rot in prison while activists and politicians grandstand, submit press releases and make photo ops?
Thinking FReepers need to ask this question.

Too bad they didn’t just shoot, shovel, and shut up.
That fence needs to be built and the border patrol agents need to not have their hands tied in dealing with illegals.

Bush has to call Senior Caulderone and get his permission first.
By the way, is that killer Laurean getting asylum in Caulderone’s country? THAT should be interesting. More tweating of the American Eagle by the Mexican Rattlesnake.

One small detail is left out: They weren’t convicted for shooting the drug smuggler. They were convicted because of what they did to cover it up.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher accused Mr. Bush of being "arrogant...." Hm, I think I've heard that word, recently.
Yes, President Bush has been arrogant. Arrogant about Mexico. Arrogant toward Israel, to pressure them to give up their land.
Way to go, our two stalwarts in California.
