Hunter and Rohrbacher are chicken shiite cowards who would rather milk this incident for all the PR they can get out of it instead of doing the one quick and certain thing that would have Ramos and Compean released at the earliest possible convenience.

Submit legislation clarifying that the Federal 10 year mandatory for using a gun during a crime does not apply to LEO's who use their guns in the nornal course of their duties.

This could have been done a year ago, would fly through congress and be signed immediately by Bush. It would get R&C out of prison and protect all future LEO's from the same danger.

My question is WHY HAS IT NOT BEEN DONE? Why are R&C being allowed to rot in prison while activists and politicians grandstand, submit press releases and make photo ops?

Thinking FReepers need to ask this question.

It already does not apply to officers in the line of duty. And that has been stated and restated again and again by these guys.

A few months ago Hunter went to the White House and hand delivered the request and statement from congress re. the Border Patrolmen to the President.

Hunter has been on the border issues for over 27 years.
This is not new to him.

BTW Calling an Army Ranger Viet nam War vet chicken Shiite tells all we want to know about you.

I suppose his Marine Capt. son - three tours in the current war is one also in your book.

Passing legislation after the fact cannot change the sentence by itself. The courts would have to agree to consider it and then the courts would have to agree that was the intent of the legislation.
