McCain was just on here, also not predicting a win. Romney on the other hand is pretty optimistic. They have their own polling and I think they have pretty good intel. My daughter and I both voted for Mitt. Would love to see a McCain meltdown if he loses. Heck he may go ring up Hillary to be her running mate.

“It’s over for Romney if he doesn’t win tonight ... it will show he is not a viable candidate (especially losing in both NH and Michigan).”

That depends. Is Michigan an all or nothing state? If he comes in close second, it is very likely he will STILL be ahead in actual delegate count.

According to early exit polls, >17%< of voters for the REPUBLICAN primary are Democrats attempting to manipulate candidate results.

Looks like we’re all screwed...

According to a report prepared by Edison Media Research for AP and published in Startribune the initial Michigan primary exit poll results favor Republicans and the Democrats seem to be minority. We project the winner of the Michigan primary exit poll results to be the Republican candidate Mitt Romney. People are saying that economy is one of the most important issues for the voters in Michigan and those who go to the polls. Michigan's economy has been hit very heart as the unemployment is above 7 percent in the state.More precise results of the Michigan Primary will come out this...

The Rasmussen SC poll that you mention had Thompson up four points from their previous poll, but still in fourth. McCain was also up however, so Thompson’s gain came at Huckabee’s expense, and McCain’s lead was 9 points, which is the biggest lead he has polled in the state since last May.

There was a Nevada poll released the other day which had McCain leading by 4 from Guiliani, Romney and Huckabee another couple of points behind that.

In two weeks, depending on the results of the primaries and caucuses, we may be down to three candidates: McCain, Huckabee, and Romney.

Then we will be looking at a brokered convention.

Don't say that...it could work.

...unless you like to see feudalism return.

The pro-feudalists and the anti-feudalists used to feudal all the time. When the feudaling was finished there no more feudals to feudal. Thus, the end of feudalism as we know it. But, I'm sure, there are still a few feudals feudaling around, somewhere.

More precise results of the Michigan Primary will come out this evening.

"Preliminary results from exit poll by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International for The Associated Press and television networks. Partial samples in 40 precincts around Michigan of 873 voters in the Republican primary and 588 in the Democratic contest. Sampling error plus or minus 5 percentage points in each primary."

“Looks like we’re all screwed...”

It means something else too... If these Democrats aren’t voting on their ballot, it means their candidate probably doesn’t appear. That means the uncommitted vote will probably be very small, and Hillary will win decisively. Does anyone really think the DNC will be able to keep Michigan’s delegates from being counted?

“I support the only conservative in the race that can win. Fred Thompson!”

Any evidence at all that he’s going to win a single state, much less the presidency? Why do you say he’s the only one who can win? He’s going to end up endorsing McCain, whether you want to admit that just yet or not.”

Let me say at the outset that I like Fred the best but could live with Romney. Your comment that Fred will support McCain may be correct. I thought I read somewhere that Fred was supported by Howard Baker, Cheney and that “establishment” group. McCain is an “establishment” candidate. I think they believe it is “his turn” since he lost to Bush. I sure hope that Fred didn’t enter this race to draw support from Romney in order for McCain to sneak in for the win. Maybe my tinfoil hat is on too tight. lol

Fox News just reported that 69% of the black vote here is going for UNCOMMITTED!!!! :0

I never thought it could be that high. I’d like to know where they’re getting that number!

Interesting. Megan Kelly just reported that hillary! is only getting mid-20% of the African American vote, "uncommitted" is getting in the high 60's.

Not good news for mrs. clintbilly!

I entered the voting booth intending to vote for Huckabee——but voted Romney. Just couldn't’t do it, even though I like Mike.

McCain - Served his country

In the Senate McCain serves himself and his Democrat overlords.

Hopefully McCain will put the Romney campaign out of its misery.

McCain - Served his country

I don't know if that's the case, but McCain and his allies in the liberal media have been working very hard to do just what you wish.

Some of us are capable of seeing who the real conservatives are just by virtue of who the media attack and support.

Have you seen the delegate totals? Right now, Romney has as many 1st place finishes as any other candidate: 1. But the important thing is that he also placed 2nd in the others. and, as close as most of these state elections have been so far, 2nd place has earned practically the same delegate count as first. One 1st and two 2nds racks up more than one 1st, a 3rd and a 4th.
