I’m supporting Mitt all the way! He will be the next Republican nominee for President. A lot of people here were impressed with him in the first few debates and I believe in Mitt. Yes, he was the governor of my beloved state amongst the likes of Kennedy/Kerry...enough said. He did his best.

I am not offended by the exposure of a liar. Yes, Virginia, Baptist (and all other denominations’) preachers can be liars, too. There was a Baptist preacher that lived beside us in our first house Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He didn’t stay there long. Seems he impregnated a choir member and had to resign.

I’m proud to be an independent but you’ll never find me at DU. Pat Caddell just predicted McCain would win Michigan. That would be the Islam vote.

Well, the endorsement is supposed to come between noon and three Eastern...

Well, I truly hope that Limbaugh has been humbled by his listening audience and gets off his high-horse and joins the fray.

After saying that he's tired of "carrying the water" for Republicans after 2006, it's time for him to "back a horse" in this race, definitively, even if this is ground-breaking for him, risky for him, whatever.

It's time for Rush Limbaugh to "put his money where his mouth is" and become a Player. There is too much at stake, he's established himself comfortabley on the loyalty of his listenere, there will be no Mea Culpa's if he waits too long to matter.

Tomorrow is D-Day for Rush Limbaugh.

Great post, Mom....right to the point, and it cleared up a lot of previous hogwash on these threads.

You saved me a lot of typing.

That statement by Ron Paul was the best line of the night. We are treating Israel like our stepchild.

It's funny how all those who claim he's anti-Israel don't point out how he supported Israel's attack on Osirak. They don't point out how he sharply criticized and voted against the resolution condemning Israel for going into Lebanon to defend itself.

I think few Americans realize that Egypt alone gets $1.7 billion in aid from us vs. $2.4 billion for Israel.

I actually thought they were all pretty much on point tonight — a few better than others. Key word in the coming months for GOP voters is “electability.”

:) I am up to HERE with the conspiracy McCain/Thompson nonsense.

Fred would never go through this madness in order to give the presidency to McCain. It is beyond cynical to believe it.

Don’t know about the rest, but I agree with the last point — Thompson isn’t running to be Vice President.

Thompson’s failure to attack McCain is an distasteful matter. I won’t say ugly.

He’s McCain’s friend. At first glance you want to nod and say that is admirable that he won’t attack.

But at second glance you examine the context of it all from the perspective of July of 2007. McCain was running. Thompson knew he was running. He also knows that politics requires drawing stark contrasts with the opponent — if you are truly trying to win and not conspiring. He knew he would have to fight with McCain to win. So if he didn’t want to do that, why run? What was compelling him to run? What policies of McCain did he abhor to the point where he knew he had to step forward to offer the people a way to refuse McCain.

If the failure to do battle with McCain is accidental, then it is incompetent. If it is intentional and a conspiracy, agreed to or otherwise, then that is cheating the American people in a manner that I do not think has been seen before.

That is the one black mark against Santorum. However, he was also the strongest defender of Human life and the family that we had in the United States Senate. One of his Senate speaches in defense of marriage brought tears to my eyes just listening to it. He was frequently attacked for his socially conservative positions but he continued to stand strong so I am more than willing to forgive his one compromise while in the U.S. Senate.
