Idaho Romney Supporters Stand By Candidate After New Hampshire Loss
KIVI-TV ^ | Jan 9, 2008

Mitt Romney supporters in Idaho won't say they're disappointed in their candidate's finish Tuesday night, but State Schools Superintendent Tom Luna says he is anxious. "But I suspect that no matter who you're supporting right now on either party, cause its so fluid."

Right now, there's no clear front runner for the Republican presidential nomination. That's despite Romney spending far more money than any other candidate in both New Hampshire and Iowa and still losing both. But his Idaho campaign chair Lieutenant Governor Jim Risch says Romney's in a good position, because he has more delegate votes right now than any other candidate. Risch says, "You can be gathering votes, even winding up second in the race and be in the position that he's in. Where he as the most committed delegates right now."

Right now, Romney has 24 delegates and his closest competitor Mike Huckabee has 18. That means the most important primaries are yet to come.

Actually, he's the most liberal Governor in the history of the Republic.

Uh yeah, right.

I hope you realize I did not say it; I was replying to the one who said it.

My grandpa used to say that all the time about Cecil Andrus, only with more, um...profanity. It disturbs him deeply that grade schools are named for the guy.

(it's also not a good idea to get him going on Sen. Church, either) :)

The figure on the temple is indeed the angle Moroni that brought the Book of Mormon to Joseph Smith and has reference to Revelations 14:6
- Mormon buildings don’t display the cross because the focus is on the resurrection of the Christ and not his death, the fact that he lives.
I am always confused why it is such a big deal that mormons consider themselves christian when there is over 2,000 christian denominations with differing views, if you try to live a christian life wouldn’t that make you one?

“It is looking more and more like Fred Thompson is just a stalking horse for McCain—enters the race, distracts conservatives, does nothing, drops out, endorses McCain.”

I really hope that isn’t true. I think it would be really shameful if that happened. The two are friends. I consider McCain to be a traitor to the United States with his attack on the 1st Amendment. Thats the problem with political insiders who have been inside Washington too long. And to think how viciously Fred supports constantly attack Mitt while ignoring Fred’s good friend, the traitor from Washington DC, who will hand the Presidency to Hillary Clinton. On the Republican side, we cannot nominate a man whose 1st marriage ended because of a one-night stand. He betrayed his first wife and he has already betrayed the United States with Campaign Finance Reform. There is this Blond liberal comnmentator on Fox News who is constantly saying that we should nominate McCain, that he would be the hardest to best. I can’t stand the woman. It turns out that yesterday she all but admitted she is a Hillary Clinton Supporter. It’s already known that she is a Democrat. Everytime I hear her speak I feel like slapping her. She is such a witch!

I hate to say it, because I know many won’t understand me, but I would much rather have a Mormon for President then an Evangelical. In my opinion, the Evangelical Movement is made up of mostly hypocrits who pressure other Christians to walk lock-step. For the most part, they are the modern day equivalent of the Pharasees. I am not impressed with them as a group. I think Evangelical Chrisitans, because of the pressue they are constantly under from their leaders would be a very easy group to mislead by those with dishonest intentions. Personally, I am starting to think that Huckabee is being used by the Clinton Machine. As time goes on, I think it would be very unwise to nominate anyone from Arkansas until the Clinton Machine is nothing but a footnote.

I find it interesting that so much time is spent telling lies about Romney, yet these so called supporters of Fred seem to be just fine with McCain who has worked hard in the Senate to aid and abet the socialists in this country. First by his successful attack on the 1st amendment, which shuts up the little people, thereby helping those like Hillary Clinton. And also with McCain’s assult on the United States with his attempt at Amnesty. I find it so amusing how Fred supporters ignore these two acts of treason, that are very well documented, yet spend their time spreading lies about Romney. Fred made a big mistake when he went into too much detail about his church going habits, apparently he has attracted supporters who don’t care for church going either, hence the vicious attacks. Fred might be able to get away with not going to church and still be able to honestly follow Jesus, most others who don’t go, just aren’t spirtual. And you can see that by the dishonest attacks of Romney and their ignoring McCain’s horrific pattern of asaulting the United States by his actions in the Senate.

I hope McCain will not be the nominee. And if his friend Fred doesn’t start to call his friend on his treasonous behavior, I will be very disappointed.

The one thing that bothers me about Fred are the tactics of his supporters. Yet when I saw Fred on last nights debate, I thought he did really good, in fact, I agree he won. But when I am reading these distortions about Romney’s record, I find myself at odds with his supporters. So in other words, if it wasn’t for Fred’s supporters here at the FreeRepublic and their tactics, I might have been one of his supporters too. But when I see their viscious attacks on Romney while ignoring McCain, it makes my blood boil. And then I start to question Fred, what type of people is he attracting. And that’s my main concern with Fred as a candiate, not to mention his friendship with McCain, who will help Hillary Clinton to get elected.

A major problem with the Republican Party right now is the utter failure in Washington to effectively take on the Clinton Political Machine. Did it ever occur to you that maybe we need to find someone who can make Bill Clinton look like an idiot? You say that’s a bad thing, I think it’s a good thing. Fred has a lot of baggage being in the Senate during the Clinton years and not taking an effective stand. No matter how good he sounds, that will always be something that stands out to me.

You want someone who lies more effectively than Bill Clinton? No wonder this country, and this party, are so screwed up.

yet spend their time spreading lies about Romney

Lies? The man's a flip flopping liberal. Everything I have seen posted at F.R. about Romney has been well documented.

Romney? Woo hoo!! Socialized healthcare and free abortions for all!! Kennedy, Clinton, et al love him for legitimizing their favorite socialist cause. Conservative? More like useful idiot.

Go, FRed, GO!!

Idaho has always been Staunchly conservative.

If Romney wasn't Mormon, he would have almost no support among Idaho Republicans. I'm sure that he is doing great in Northern Utah, um...I mean, Southern Idaho.
