Same thing. You are not a conservative then. You FRiend are a Republican. These candidates, with the exception of two, are not conservative, you know it.

You are willing to sell your soul because you are weak and to afraid to stand your ground.

I WILL sit on my hands and I WILL blame the party if there is a loss.

You never get what you want in politics with compromise. If you do, you get what you deserve.

It is a “if you fail to vote for a RINO, you deserve scorn” ping list”.

That probably more accurately defines the proposal.

>If enough word got out about Hunter and his stands, you would see something to behold.<

I have always believed that. I also believe that is exactly why they are trying to supress him.

Everything he believes in is what’s best for this country.
Another poster said something about how GOP was operating like Dems and doing anything at all to widen the base-thus the push for open borders & more voters.

It’s more than that though. I know this sounds like liberal BS spew, but I believe it’s all about the money.

Businesses want cheap labor, people want cheap goods. These are also the businesses that buy advertising on MSM. If we really closed the border and fixed the trade the way it is supposed to we would all possibly suffer for a while. The people who would suffer the most are the rich folks who want the cheap labor. I don’t know-maybe it’s so broken it’s fubar at this point.

I always believed if we look out for America first and go back to being somewhat self sufficient as far as making our own stuff, growing our own stuff, we would prosper. Everyone would prosper in the end(except the rich)there would be jobs galore(if we stop outsourcing too)

Maybe this isn’t a good theory. I’m not saying we should rob the rich and give to the poor or anything. But we depend so much on imports now. What if something really awful happened and we couldn’t import anything? Duncan Hunter already pointed out that lack of industry is hurting national security. Remember the special metal shields for the Humvees or whatever thy’re driving over there?

Our lack of manufacturing is a threat to national security.

What next? Outsource the Presidency? We’re halfway there.(Stupid foreign policy & open borders and what does the rest of the world think of our laws?)

Outsource the military? We’re halfway there. (Blackwater)

I’m all over the map here, and maybe a little ranty.

What’s so bad about isolationism or hawkish protectionism.

I felt it’s long overdue for quite some time now.

OK, but a RINO’s scorn doesn’t bother me any more than a Democrat’s scorn. It’s just water off a duck’s back AFAIC.

It's always a good idea to follow the money.

Your entire post was excellent and thought out. Kudos to you.

I guess Republicans should have been smart enough to give me somebody I could vote for.....It is called principle it is to bad the Republicans lost their standards but I do not vote to please Republicans I vote ideals. 1)Pro-Life 2)Gun rights 3)Defend this country 4)Low taxes 5)Immigration

You whining only makes you look bad and unprincipled, nor does it do anything to affect those who vote their conscious.

You’re a freak. You shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Wow! You sound just like DU when discussing Christians. But don't worry put up a liberal he won't be voting nor will a huge block of the voters you are depending on.

With all due respect man, you are using selective memories here.

Yes, there was opposition to Reagan’s Reykjavik summit. Much of it was from the Left and Democrats who thought Reagan was a warmonger. BUT...the truth is that his toughest opposition at that point came from HARDCORE CONSERVATIVES who thought he was being too soft on the Soviets. Go research this. Reagan was criticized by as many as 20 Right Wing (NOT RINOs) Senators, including Jesse Helms, the absolute darling of the hardcore right.

You talk about “know it all Liberal Republicans” who opposed Reagan on Reykjavik...like who??? What Liberal Republicans were there in that time frame who specifically ripped Reagan and repudiated the deal with the Soviets? I was on Capitol Hill in the late 1980’s and I can tell you that 90% of the criticism of Reykjavik came from the Democrats and the other 10% came from THE RIGHT WING, not so-called RINOs.

It wasn’t the Republican Leadership (as you call it) that thought of Reagan as a Loose Cannon, it was Bureaucrats at the State Department, and in the CIA, and other entrenched government interests like that. Sure, there was some grumbling from a few RINOs that he was too harsh early in his term, but that was from people trying to win re-election in weak districts...and they had pretty much shut their mouths after the second term began.

Believe me, there was a lot of criticism of Reagan, but it mostly came from the media and Democrats...and there was WAYYYYY more criticism of Reykjavik from the Right Wing than so-called RINOs.

And you bring up Nicaragua...the Republicans DID side with Reagan on that issue. Other than Arlen Specter and Dan Evans, what Republican Senators voted against Contra Aid??? The Contra Aid situation fell apart after Republicans got crushed in the 1986 off-year election and lost several Senate seats. Only THEN did that situation truly fall apart.

If you want to make that point that in 1976, the Republican establishment opposed Reagan then I agree with you, but that was NOT the case in the 1980’s. It is major revisionist history to suggest that there was anything more than token resistance from the so-called RINOs...hell, Reagan even had Democrats on board for some of his stuff...

Do you remember one of the first debates when Duncan Hunter referred to some of his fellow candidates as , “THE TED KENNEDY WING OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY”?

THAT is why Hunter is out of the media coverage and the debates. He told the truth. CAN’T have that! Not to mention stopping discussion of China and immigration.

McCain, Huckabee, Rudy....look who they’re giving us...

I think we should start calling it exactly what it is, don’t you?
“THE TED KENNEDY WING OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY”

Arnold is certainly a perfect example.

The Ted Kennedy Wing of the GOP still thinks 50% of nothing is a win.

Face it AuntB, rather than standing up for a guy like Hunter, and demanding a strong and honest candidate, they will cast their lot for those that will sell them down the river.

Well, you know, they look at a vote for one of these dirtbags as an entitlement to sit back and b*tch. Thats what they really want anyway. A good reason to gripe when they bend over and take it.
