I don’t think any FReeper can make that judgement yet as we don’t know who the nominee will be. I won’t stay home, but if the GOP choses to nomininate Huckabee, they won’t get my vote either.

That Hillary is such a liar. problem is most of them are liars on both sides.

Her lying is a little more repulsive than the others though.

Fox makes me sick. They know the election is already decided on both sides.

I'll probably do what you are suggesting...vote for the propositions and local offices. I can skip the Pres vote if it's Huck, Romney McCain etc...

O good night nurse, now FNC has Madeline Albright on! It's waaaaay too early for me to be seeing this garbage!

It is ridiculous isn't it. The GOP since late 1995 has been AWOL and about as effective as bucket of gasoline putting out a fire against the Dems. The GOP has been dumbed down and Liberaled Down to about the lowest common denominator. The end result is two liberal parties now controlling our nation. Worse are those using Animal Farm scare tactics to make certain no honest change can ever occur.

The ones screaming loudest you better not sit home or a vote for someone is a vote for Hillary each and every time are supporters of the most Liberal GOP candidates. I wonder why that is? If the GOP looses in November {and it looks like it is cruising for a loosing yet once again} it will be because once again the gullible bought into the only a Liberal all inclusive FREAK can win. Voters that stupid deserve to loose.

and why do you think the illegal problem is much worse since that bill was passed? It was a mistake. But I don’t believe in burying Reagan or Bush or anyone who has at least some conservative principles.

Rudy and Ron Paul are the exceptions because one betrays life and the other betrays our troops and those things are not negotiable.

For all GOPers who want to earn votes through threats - don’t gas your own people! That was Saddam’s mistake (well, in hindsight, after we got mad at him, it was one of the mistakes).

I seem to have digressed. Earn my vote, GOP! Do something no one expects you to have the gonards to do - be a magnificant bastard for one bright shining moment and make us proud. Then we will vote for you, yea, in droves.

Don’t leave Rooty out of your equation.

We are going to end up: Rooty/Huck, one of the most repulsive tickets ever imagined other than crap/vomit.

I will vote in the state and local elections. The RINO socialists at the top can forget my vote.

If the best the conservative party can do is McCain, Huckabee or Mitt it deserves to wither and be replaced.

It would have been interesting to have had internet chat back in 1856 and 1860 and read poster’s comments about those tumultuous times during the demise of the Whig Party.

Alas, Algore was born a century late.

I’m not trying to teach anyone a lesson its just that I don’t know who I can’t stand more, McCain or Hillary.
Neither gets my vote. Flame away.

I realize you put being a conservative above being an American

No, because I am an American, I value many conservative principles.

If you're willing to vote Republican no matter what the candidate values, then you are putting the Republican Party 'above being an American'. So you can just throw your sophomoric insults right back at yourself.

Look at this. The guy didn’t have a clue more often than not.

You're too charitable. I think he has had malicious intent on some things (border enforcement, Ramos/Compean for starters).

Teaching the GOP a lesson has nothing to do with it.

I just need a conservative nominee to vote for. And with Hunter and Thompson sucking hind tit in NH, I don’t see one.

Honestly, Paul is the most Constitutionally faithful candidate with any shred of support. How sad is that?

And there you have it! I agree completely. I think McCain is truly crazy (and should not be in charge of the football!). Gulliani will allow the killing of babies, take my guns and keep the borders open. Huckabee will raise my taxes and who knows what else (he covered for his mentally ill, creepy son). Romney is just too slick and has flip-flopped so much that I don't know what he really stands for.

That comes down to only two...Hunter and Thompson. I have NO PROBLEM voting for either one.

Interesting overheard chat among five 16 yr. old boys:

Hey dude who do you want to win for President?
They tossed around Clinton..that was a no
Obama...consensus was a he seems like a cool dude.

Huckabee: He wouldn’t be too bad, he’s basically a Democrat anyway.
Scary when 16yr olds think this, I almost choked when I heard it.

The lone republican kid says: What about Fred Thompson?
They all looked at him like he had two heads. But he’s a republican. Lone republican kid: Yeah he’s the man.
They asked what made him the man. He responded with the tale of Fred not raising his hand at the Iowa debate. They were all impressed, and decide to give him a look. (They just love the rebel.)
Keep in mind these are 16yr olds with hardly a clue. But I will bet its what lesser informed voters base their opinions on too. And its pretty bad when kids think that a GOP candidate is basically a Democrat.

what republicans will be there to block anything if all the republican voters stay home?

Where did you get the idea that 'all the republican voters stay home'?

If the Republican nominee isn't a conservative, many will be voting, but leaving blank the President block. That's what I might be doing, because I will be voting for my Senator Jim Inhofe, as well as other conservative Republicans, including my Representative John Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan had some contrary opinions early on in his first term, but many of us wrote and called him, and he actually turned around and became much mo' betta. He is a conservative, but he was confused about two or three issues in the beginning.

As long as we have at least 41 mostly-conservative Republicans in the Senate, we can block the Dims. That's IF conservative Americans continue to blast them with Emails, letters and phone calls to keep them in line.
