"My question for you evangelicals is this. If youre looking for a real conservative, why are you supporting Huckabee? Hes completely discredited himself. What about Fred Thompson? If youre looking for a real conservative. Huckabee is constantly engaging in class warfare against the producers. This laid-off line, its an attack on Romney, but its an attack on producers. Its an attack on employers. Its pure populism. He does oppose school choice! You dont get the NEA endorsement in New Hampshire by supporting school choice."

No thank you, Rush.
So you consider Antonin Scalia (appointed by Reagan) and Clarence Thomas (appointed by Bush 41) as "failures"? Interesting...
Three words: Drive. By. Media. The drive-bys have been hyping Huckabee even before he won Iowa.
But nope, he's gonna make that extra effort in New Hampshire on the day of the election.
So basically he's making an extra effort in a state that is getting increasingly liberal as time goes on? Great...
Identity politics does not have to involve a characteristic you’re born with. Some people will automatically vote for a Southerner for example. My grandmother voted for Jimmy Carter because he had been a farmer, and she was a farmer. That was identity politics.
The founder of the HomeSchool Legal Defense Association supports Mike Huckabee. You can find his blog link on the MikeHuckabee.com site.
Majority of homeschoolers like Mike!
Huckabee opposed school vouchers, opposed Choice. Imposed a very restrictive law on Home Schoolers and is endorsed by the NEA. No friend of home schoolers would be backed by the NEA.
Huckster = Jimmy Carter on steroids.
Of course you think its insulting, Huckabee and his supporters have thinner skin than anyone else in this race on both sides.
I don’t know, maybe. Seem to be doing well so far in this post. God I’m good!
Ooooops, nevermind.
Did you accept his answer in the last debate that he wanted to close down Gitmo because it was too good for the terrorists and bring them to Leavenworth? If he wants to close down Gitmo, fine, be honest as to why. Don't make up some bs when your position doesn't fly.
Rudy has more character when it come to honesty, but I guess to Huck supporters the only sin is adultery. Lying is ok if it furthers your cause.
No, I’m good. Check your post #27.
I can see that, but I like Fred's approach better - let the states decide. Otherwise I'm also sensing that Huck's embrace of the Fair Tax also might be driving some folks to his side.
No, you’re someone who gets offended too easily and cries about it to mommy. Bet you were fun on the playground.
Agreed.
Sorry you disagree.
Fred has a 100% pro-life voting record. The NRTL interviewed all candidates in depth and settled on Fred Thompson, not Huckabee.
The Constitutional Amendment issue is a red herring and a propaganda tool. The President has no power to make a Constitutional amendment happen. He can encourage, but see GWB-- nothing has happened in seven years. Since Roe was voted upon, the plan of activists has been to go to each state once it is overturned. So it is a no brainer to start at the state level. Fred will appoint strong conservative justices to overturn Roe, QED.
I look at Huckabee and see a slick Arkansas politician and preacher. I wouldn't think of going to a church the Huckabee pastored (and I am a former Baptist). I can't support his nanny-state ideas and actions. EXPLICITLY: his tax and spending, his call to regulate fatty food and smoking, his offering scholarships to illegals, his calling 'racists' those opposed to his policies for illegals, his many ethics problems including taking furniture from the governor's mansion (and having to return it), his taking of money for speeches during this campaign, his convenient flip-flops on Cuba and other foreign policy issues.
Moreover, Huckabee's national security experience--> zero. He wants to close Guantanamo and "talk" to our Radical Islamic enemies. Huckabee also name-called President Bush for having a 'bunker mentality'. He didn't know where Pakistan is in the map in relation to Afghanistan.
In general, it seems anyone who doesn't agree with Huckabee is judged. Stop and watch, and you will discern in his manner and words exceeding self-righteousness.
Politically, Huckabee is a pro-life liberal. I would consider flip-flop Romney over him.
My prayer is that light will be shined on Huckabee's record and character so that his deficiencies will be revealed to all.
Add to that at the core: we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So in this context, my comments are about another sinner who offered himself up for public scrutiny.
In other words he is not "pimping" Jesus to get votes. Are you suggesting that not going to church means you are no longer a Christan? Going to church is important, however it does not single-handedly define our faith. Some people need communion more than others.
Yes, well... Y'all go try and explain all that to them Huckleberry Christians. That is the stuff they look for, and rightly so, as it is the only externally evident means of judging a candidate's faith. Especially so in the face of all the lies and packaging that we call elections.
I also think that your term "Pimping Jesus" is an unfortunate and offensive thing. So any candidate who goes to church, and who's faith shows in his campaign words and deeds is "pimping Jesus"? What an absurd generalization.
And church folks will tell you that everyone needs the fellowship found at the church, and they would be telling you the truth. It is "fellowship" btw, communion is a different matter.
I use the word pimping to emphasize his blatant use of Christ’s good name to pump up his personal image. When in reality he is using his faith as a form of commercial endorsement.
Again, we are electing a president not the pope of the United States. We are a country of 300 million, of which not all are Christan. While I like his moral compass, if in fact he IS a good Christan. Most of us conservatives dislike his populist fiscal policies and his potential for Nanny state politics.
I submit he is hiding behind his faith because of serious deficiencies in other very important areas.
