How are you going to win Fla saying you will reduce entitlements? It’s a political 3rd rail.

I would campaign on other issues like security and once elected raise these other issues.

Romney can beat Obama in all those states. He can beat Clinton in all those states.

You might wonder if he could beat Edwards in South Carolina, but Edwards probably couldn’d have won re-election as senator in his own state.

If there was a southern democrat running for President, I’d want to think hard about Romney, but there are no southern democrats. And no, Hillary is not a southern democrat.

Be careful. If you point out the bigotry against the Northeast, you will be called a nasty poster.

Fred wouldn’t lower himself to run with a weasel like Romney.

I watched this debate in its entirety. I figured a Fox debate might be better than the others. It was a pretty good format, done in a reasonably fair manner. Chris Wallace tried to set up arguments. They did argue some, but not so much as to generate headlines for the liberal MSM. I thought they all did pretty well. They all had some good comments. Each talks a good game, as Republicans understand it. Each says he favors lower taxes, etc. Each was is hard to pin down on his particular weakness. To listen to McCain, he was never for amnesty. Sorry, I just don’t buy it.

I listened to some of the post debate discussion since this was Fox. The pollster, Luntz, had a group that reacted to the debates. They really liked Romney. That surprised me as I thought they all sounded good.

In the first round of Fox dialog, Fred Barnes made a negative comment about Thompson. Kristol took good natured offense and called the remark a cheap shot from a pundit (or something to that effect). Kristol thought no one’s mind would be changed by the debate (my opinion too). Kondracke (mild liberal) thought that Huckabee was the only one who felt the pain of the middle class and that the Republicans had better wise up on that in order to take on Obamma. Liberals are always claiming that our capitalist nation is going down the tubes unless government steps in. Is it any more true of this year than others?

Fred is growing on me. Mitt is O.K. but keeps lapsing back into his latest speech. He did seem to have a control of facts. Mitt can’t keep up with Huckabee in a debate, but can anyone else really follow that (southern) fast talker? Giulianni seems to have some valid accomplishments under his belt. I think McCain may claim too much credit for the surge strategy. He deserves credit, but maybe not so much as he claims. Still, exaggerated claims are to be expected and probably all parties are guilty to some degree. I’d have to say that I liked Fred best. At one point, I was hoping that Romney would credit Hunter. But I don’t think Romney is that “quick” or would consider that smart.

It seemed to me that Wallace gave most of the time to Romney, Huckabee, and McCain, in line with expected results through New Hampshire. Still, the others were slighted.

I?ll go you one step further ? I think this debate was tilted in favor of McCain. I am not saying deliberately, just factually.

And the ads deal. Just showing Romney's ads. None that McCain or Huck ran against Romney. There was nothing wrong with the ads that are not unusual in an election, nor were they hateful. I saw ads McCain ran against Romney and they were just as tough.

What a stupid thing to ask about in a debate for President. Made me wonder if Wallace thinks this is Kindergarten. I thought it was done to favor Huck and McCain rather blatantly. Had to respect Romney for holding his cool.

No, it would not be funny if he got elected (which he won’t).

But your post was most definitely funny!

He had melanoma on his arm as well , which must increase his risk, as there are two sites from which spread can occur, and it indicates a predisposition for further recurrence.

Am I right about that?

Also, did I catch you saying that sun exposure doesn't have the strongest association with melanoma, as perhaps evidenced by the arm, and thus his service to his country was unlikely involved, despite your going on and on about that?

I guess that’s why we have southern primaries. If he can’t win those, he won’t be our nominee.

If he can win those, he will be our nominee.

I also think it’s important if the independents who voted for McCain last time go to the D primary Tuesday for Obama.
