Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
That’s why I find the ‘he was acting’ comment about Fred from the focus group hilarious. They were all acting EXCEPT Fred.
My husband and I, both got a good laugh when McCain said that he would re-energize the Republican base.
I missed the debate but just saw McCain on Fox.
Is it just my TV or did his makeup turn him as orange as an Oompa-Loompa?
LQ
Yeah, good luck with that.
I have seen more Fred stickers in West Michigan than any other Pub.
I like crack too. Next time you go on a binge like this please share. call me at 1-900-ZOT-TROLL
I will be sure to put a psychic on.
He matched Bill Kristol, who also looked like an Umpa. For the record, the Upmas scared the bejesus outta me as a kid. They still do.
You are right about that, talking to an idiot drives me crazy.
Though, actually, Romney and Huck are much further from Washington circles than Fred Thompson, who has been pretty involved with Washington since and including the Watergate hearings.
“They were all Romney NE liberal plants. Anyone with a brain can see that! *hint* *hint*
And you must be a mindreader to know these NH voters are all NE liberal transplants. Were you channelling them with your psychic powers, seeing as you claim you have a brain to do such things with, and others don’t? What you think is immaterial to these NH voters. They watched, they judged the candidates, and they don’t agree with you. Too bad, so sad. And they will be the ones voting, not you.
Yaelle, you take no prisoners with your debate. LOL
I’m with you and you said it much better than I could.
Fredhead here, and I actually sent him some bucks. Others here could take heed and do the same.
I like it better when less personal attacks are spewed and more discussion is given about THE ISSUES. We have a rough road ahead and intelligent conversation can be helpful if people don’t go off. Everyone has someone they like better, but one thing is needed: ISSUES and honest assessment of leadership to tackle the issues most top of the list as well as outspoken enough to get votes. I agree about the 11th commendment: if you can’t say something nice about one of the candidates you don’t like, just refrain from childish name calling and bashing. It’s immature and turns off many of us who have been here quite awhile (7+ years for myself).
#2148...Good post...you nailed it
vaudine
Well, until you learn how to read, and more importantly listen, you will not be impressed.
Fred is a true conservative, both socially and fiscally, and even at that he is a borderline moderate (RINO)...
If your idea of conservatism is based on Bush, imho, Bush is not a true conservative either...he’s a neocon aka a 1960’s conservsative democrat...
These other guys ARE liberals/moderates....
That is why we hold on to and support Fred...and will up until the convention because every vote for Fred is a protest vote aginst the others and will give us arm-twisting leverage should Fred not get the nomination.
All these other people here want the Fred supporters to come to their side to give their guy the edge over everyone else...
WE HAVE THE POWER. :)
Should it come to that we will be looking for consessions, believe you me!
Although "bad actor" isn't an official term it was what I thought when some details came out, in the Washington Post IIRC, on McCain's shortly before the 2000 GOP convention. He'd reportedly had a good checkup 6 months earlier, it was on an easily seen location of a very public person, who should be very skin cancer aware, and yet this had gotten deep enough to have a significant mortality risk. His negative sentinel node check reduced the risk from the depth of his melanoma, but not as much as the media spun it. Sentinel nodes are likely less reliable for head or neck melanomas. Time has improved his odds, but as you pointed out late recurrences are more common in melanoma than in most tumors. A McCain relapse would sadden, but not shock me.
***The Fredster sounds pretty good. Or, we can just refer to him by his middle name, Dalton.***
Hmm...Will we call his Cabinet the Dalton Gang ?
Huck the schmuck is Carter redux.
I am a Fredhead as well.
Mitt is a viable alternative, but my GOD...... Kucinnich would be less left than Huck the schmuck.
I didn’t see much of the Iowa Democratic caucus because I was working my butt off for Fred as a Precinct Captain.
However, if you saw our Iowa D’s in action, you witnessed MOONBATTY to the 20th degree. You’ll get no argument from me.
