You are right on Romney. Everyone else has an “out” when it comes to Iowa. McCain, Thompson and certainly Giuliani did not spend the time and money that Romney did there.

I certainly don’t think this makes Hucakbee the favorite. But I don’t see Romney finishing higher than second in NH, SC, and FL. He has to hope that the first place guys are different in each of those states. I suppose that is possible with McCain winning NH, Thompson (hopefully) in SC, and Giuliani (hopefully not) in Florida.

Winning the Iowa caucuses cinches the nomination, just ask President Robertson.

Well thats one theory. But I’m not clear how you’d know which parts of IA were well known Huckster territory.

Huckabee was a big winner tonight, but Thompson is holding his own IMO and Paul is doing quite well as well.

I don’t think anyone is going to drop out before New Hampshire - McCain is doing well there, Giuliani was never expected to do well in Iowa, Romney is still leading there and Hunter is not a big-name candidate as it is.

Yep, scary isn’t it??? I think it just proves that they have an agenda no matter how much they pretend they don’t. We here are speaking our minds clearly, and actually look at the information before us. Them??? Well, there USED to be good journalists in our world — I don’t think there are many left.

CNN calls Iowa GOP for Huckabee as the winner tonight.

[Bad news for GOP because the CNN panel of pundits say the GOP leadership think Huckabee will divide the party, thus giving 08 to the Dems.]

Yes, poor IA has come a long and unglorious way since the West Branch days of Herbert Hoover.
