[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
Our church is quite large and has a team of unarmed security guards who mostly patrol the parking lot areas. However, there has also always been an armed off-duty policeman who patrols the front main sidewalk at every service. After this incident, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more than one in the future.
Security guard is a GOOD MAN! Took on an armed assailant!
Many go to church packing heat.
It feels weird but many do. I admire the Sikh idea that it is a sin to be defensless, yet I admire the idea that it is out of our hands.
Bless the sheep and the sheepdawgs
Oh, I perfectly understand that school can suck up all your time. Been there, done that, and will be doing it again next month. BTW, what is your major? Mine was electronics/electrical engineering and my next will be computer science.
You might know after hearing it fired.
yeah, yeah — but as soon as they got a name and background, the salt lake city guy was properly tagged as a Bosnian muslim. (and he, at least, does look “a bit” non-western. I’m just saying that “Robert Hawkins” the Omaha shooter, has NOTHING to indicate a muslim connection, by looks, background, habits, etc. Come up with something, and I’m ready to listen. But I say again, just because some one kills someone, it’s a sterech to say that he must be a Muslim. They punch way above their weight in that category, no doubt, but they sure aren’t doing anywhere near MOST of the killing in the US!
Bingo.
There's a major dose of cognitive dissonance when the topic becomes "born that way" regarding to homosexuality.
If "he was born that way" validates homosexuality, does it likewise validate other "born that way" behaviors? If a pedophile can demonstrate that he was "born that way," do we then need to "embrace pedophilia"? What about kleptomania? How about pathological killers? If they can demonstrate that they were born sans conscience, with a proclivity for killing others who inconvenience them, must we then "celebrate diversity" by "accepting them into the fellowship of man"?
Of course not. The "but I was born this way!" brand of "logic" ONLY applies to homosexuals. Thus, it is shown to be political, rather than genuinely "logical" in its basis.
Not that any of this matters, of course...
My current is in education. I cannot talk about my political opinions because I am conservative in a place where they are not. That’s not exactly true, I do and have spoken of it, when possible, but I cannot speak to it fully....it’s not always a safe thing to do, unfortunately. But, I get my digs in when possible.
Otherwise, I’m just keeping my nose to the books and writing papers, and going through the motions so I can get the heck out with a degree....politics and the world is also not a subject I dare discuss with too many in the field, either. And even when I have, I find most are disinterested and uninformed.
Very sad.
How about one up in the bell tower with a sniper rifle?
Most men do not want to see their women on the battlefield.
And, lol, most men would have only ONE if they had to go through childbirth in former days.
John Walker Lynde, Adam Yahiye Gadahn and probably more that the media does not identify as such.
the details behind all of this should be very interesting!
Depends on how the selector was positioned when fired.
Now the FNC says there is a person in custody but isnt the perp, just a person of interest. could be a gramma of a victim for all we know.
Perp is still on the loose
oh geez
Right, but if it was on auto, you'd know by hearing it.
Without reading all 550+ posts in this thread . . . I don’t care whether he’s muslim or not.
My issue is that I’m tired of all of these killings of regular people by people taught to hate our Iraq policy or those who support it (christians, republicans, conservatives).
Montreal killer
American axe murderer in Holland mad about iraq
Seattle killer
Utah killer
VaTech killer
DC snipers
? Colorado killer (looks like it)
? Minn killer
What other sprees am I forgetting over the past few years?
