My current is in education. I cannot talk about my political opinions because I am conservative in a place where they are not. That’s not exactly true, I do and have spoken of it, when possible, but I cannot speak to it fully....it’s not always a safe thing to do, unfortunately. But, I get my digs in when possible.

Otherwise, I’m just keeping my nose to the books and writing papers, and going through the motions so I can get the heck out with a degree....politics and the world is also not a subject I dare discuss with too many in the field, either. And even when I have, I find most are disinterested and uninformed.

Very sad.

My sister made the mistake of voicing her conservative opinion at one of the top masters programs in the country. The profs blackballed her and failed her, despite the fact that her work was just as good as other students’. Her fellow students recognized exactly what happened, and adopted my sister’s name as code for “Professional bias.” Higher education my arse.
