[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
I think there are a lot more threads about it than there were, so the number of posts about the topic are more spread out.
We’re not talking disaffected, fat, pimply kid (like the Columbine loosers). This guy was 24 and a university student in OK. Somehow, I don’t see “not getting any” as being his motivation.
THANKS TONS.
You have confirmed what I’ve long felt and observed.
I agree with your exhortation. I just prefer to relate to everyone as pleasantly as I can . . . without compromising me being me. Can be tricky at times.
SURE APPRECIATE YOUR KIND MSG.
Much appreciate the link.
Housemate will have to play it . . . my computer audio is messed up for some reason.

My understanding is that he made a general confession to the church and more detailed to the overseers. But I wasn’t there.
Being 24 and in college doesn't guarantee action. Trust me on this.
Yes, but by that age, people have usually learned to deal with it and focus on something else. A 24 yr old is not a kid.
Do you - or does anybody- know anything about his school, his major, etc? I read that he was a student at a university in OK.
This article has some info on those issues:

“hated Christians” was what I expected would surface.
The Rocky Mountain MS Center Released the following statement:
"To our friends in the MS Community:
We are deeply saddened to learn that the recent church shootings had a direct connection to the family of Dr. Ron Murray. Dr. Murray has a long association with the Rocky Mountain MS Center, having served as both the director of research and as medical director in the past. He has currently been serving as a senior consultant to the Center in our search for a new medical director. He has served the Rocky Mountain MS Center, and the MS community with a very high level of skill, commitment and excellence Dr. Murray is one of the pillars of our community who has devoted, and continues to devote his life to the care of patients with MS through his expertise, care and experience. We are proud of our many years of affiliation with Dr. Murray and want to lend our support him and his family at this very difficult time in their lives.
It was announced this afternoon that the shooter in Colorado Springs, who was subsequently killed, was Matthew Murray, one of Dr. Murray's children. We are deeply saddened for all of the victims, their families, and certainly for the Murray family. We do not know anything more than what has been shared in the press.
Dr. Murray was to have presented a research seminar this evening for the Rocky Mountain MS Center. We were notified last evening that he would not be able to participate in this evening's seminar, due to a family crisis. Initially, we determined that we needed to proceed with the seminar, finding an alternative speaker. It was only later that we found out what had transpired. We felt strongly that we should proceed with this evening's seminar, although the presentation will vary from what was originally planned. I want to thank Tom Stewart, for stepping up and presenting this evening's seminar. Because of our deep regard for Dr. Murray, it has been a difficult day for all of us as well."
Someone gave you a badge? I shoulda demanded one of those instead of letting them stamp it on my forehead.
But I still like to hold the jerks accountable who accuse me of being insane. Sheesh. And its usually those characters who are first to scream about rude, courteous etc.
The more you try to hold any "jerk" accountable, the more you nurture it, cuz they're telling themselves they're "holding that jerk accountable".
You could be right.
That's REALLY interesting. Do you perhaps know who conducted that study? Just curious, not questioning the validity of your comment. It would seem to absolutely fly in the face of those who believe they are cause.
It's definitely interesting to think about what a media blackout would do. How much of it should be blacked out? How would be be able to pray for those in need if we don't know what's going on?
True. True. Sigh.
There you go again with all that useful wisdom and insight.
Thanks much.
ARe you sure there was not a corresponding drop in critical ages for violence in terms of population numbers at the same time?
Yes, I too was sure “hated Christians” would appear.
tflabo, when you wrote "... they serve their purpose killing others and themselves dying as their endgame in their twisted pursuit of purpose...", suicide prevents analyzation, being held accountable, and facing consequences by authorities and society. The purpose, whether a self-imposed agenda, or serving a crazy leader...carries the evil undertone and agenda..to me, that indicates involvement from satan. That's why I propose the biblical perspective because the socialogical or even criminology perspective NEVER address evil. When sociologsts asks WHY, they are only looking for behavioural cause and effect of group activity, and the only time they recognize religious issues (or a religious factor) is when the group is or is not a part of a religious organization. Granted, sociology is useful, but it doesn't and never will recognize the root cause of violent crime. Why does violence happen? Because of human nature and satan.
I really feel bad for the doctor. Maybe he was an awful person who warped his kids - or maybe he had a paranoid schizophrenic child.
That said, this son was 24 years old, which is not a tiny tot and is well beyond the reach of his father’s control.
I am not sure about that at all. Not all violent activities/events are even reported to the police, let alone the media. The stats often reported by the LEA to FBI may or may not include all the official reports. It’s voluntary to report crimes to the FBI...unless that policy has changed over the past 10 yrs or so.
