[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

Most municipalities have access to the robots. I saw one that belonged to the WV State Police Bomb Squad recently. It was an extremely cool model that was made in England.
I am told there are three of these things in my state available on call 24-7.

Considering how close the AFB is, I would assume that they could always call in the military in this instance if access to regular LEO bomb squad equipment wasn’t immediately available... I know they have done that here in Wisconsin last year when there was worries about suspicious devices and a military base was close by.

I just looked at a few maps here... Not sure where you are coming up with an Arvada home belonging to the physician... The home they are saying is being searched is definitely in Arapahoe County, and not anywhere near Arvada. It is over by Centennial Airport... Just curious as I’m trying to figure out which information is correct — one poster said the home searched is being lived in by a religious homeschooling family, but your information indicates the home being searched belongs to a physician and his wife with two adult-aged children??? Thanks in advance for any information to clear up my confused little brain at this point! :)
From
this report."Boyd described the Works family as very spiritual. At least one of the girls had recently returned from a church-sponsored mission trip."
Connection to YWAM?

THIS IS NOT THE ACTION OF SOMEONE WHO WAS REACTING TO A DENIAL OF SHELTER FOR THE NIGHT!True, thanks for your entire summary post..great points. In addition, if it's not, and it's a dorm for missionaries, that's not even close to a shelter for the homeless, no hotline etc.. weird...

Thank you for the local report, it helps a lot!
"...2) in that attack two people were shot and killed. A man and a woman. The suspect fled the scene. The Mission was a youth outreach program... To convert Muslims to Christianity. (This fact was reported on Channel 13 last night)...."
I don't want to assume anything about motives etc...but that's a brave group to commit to conversion.

"Its my understanding that we were born with a sinful nature." Yes, but that was a consequence of the fall. We were not created sinful.

FOX news live about 2 minutes before I posted that previous post, I thought I mentioned it, sorry. No, you're right Arapahoe Co, in the unincorporated part of the county, and yes it is owned by, or at least resided in by a Doctor, his wife and two male children who are in their twenties. That was reported on Fox MORE than once.
Fox ALSO reported that at least ONE of the two boys was homeschooled. I heard nothing in regards to them being "religious".

Seeing the hateful comments towards Christians has been distressful to me too.

I don't want to assume anything about motives etc...but that's a brave group to commit to conversion.YWAM doesn't focus specifically on Muslims. The Denver YWAM is not specifically targeted at Muslim conversion either. I don't know how the local reports arrived at that conclusion but it seems a bit misplaced.

I heard nothing in regards to them being "religious".A neighbor kid did say they were "strict." Could be religious but isn't necessarily so. I would bet dollars to donuts that the perp was raised in church.

Shooter identified.
Matthew Murray (sp?)
age 24
Family considered very religious per Fox News.

I think youve hit on something here... It could be that this kid didnt make the bombs properly, and thus the result would merely be smoke instead of an explosion.
Didn't "hit" on anything, I merely reported what I heard.
If you'd had bothered to read the whole thread, you'd know that other FR posters have (politely) enlightened me that the laws have changed, thank you--and for the better. How many times do I have address this? I don't live in Colorado.
I did NOT bother to read the whole thread... why? Because there are a bunch of remarks that are uncalled for after your stuff, and I wasn't reading any further. Sorry I didn't happen to read your particular remarks, but regardless of what others say, do you not think I know where you or any of the other folks live? No, sorry I don't.
I didn't make the remark to be rude, I simply stated I didn't know where you go that idea. You took it out of context and thought it to be rude. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to the site all weekend partially due to the storm, and partially due to the fact that I didn't want to be on the computer all weekend. I'm not about to sit here and read 1300 messages, about 1/3rd of which are insulting attacks on one another, and another 1/10 remarks about gay people, and another couple hundred attacking religious people. I was trying to tell you that your information was incorrect.
Hmmm... I wonder if there is more than one search warrant being served,
I don't know the answer to that yet. I'm not that confused about it, but the reports are sketchy. I only have access to FOX news here, that's it. Nothing else. I listened to local news last night, this morning on the way to work, and as I can catch it on the internet. Being at work, I don't have a lot of time to research it, but I do what I can.

CSPD has a bomb-squad and dogs. Well, they don't actually have a bomb squad, but they do have bomb sniffing dogs. A good friend of mine who just retired turned his working dog over to another officer just a few weeks ago, and was a regular at the Colorado Springs airport....
Carson has quite an EOD team, as does Peterson. I believe there are some working dogs at the other three locations as well. I know we have them here. But, not all working dogs are bomb dogs either....
I don't want to assume anything about motives etc...but that's a brave group to commit to conversion.
I don't know anything about this group at all, and am only reporting exactly what was said on Ch. 13. There apparently is some information about this group on the internet, but I've not had time to look it up. I can't say this was an anti-Christian man that did the attacks, but he certainly LOOKS like he is, if this is the exact same guy that hit the place near Denver.

I heard both "Matt Murray" and "Matthew Murray".
I searched for "Matt Murray" on facebook.com and got hundreds of hits. Don't have time for this right now, though. Does anyone else out there want to check out facebook and myspace and similar sites to see if the perp has something out there?

I have to cherish each one of those hereon . . . however obliquely. The naysayers tend to be louder and more frequent than the silent __________ty As I said earlier, I've seen plenty of what you're talking about. Found that responding to that sort of thing usually feeds it.
I had to learn scroll & ignore after being on an unmoderated site for a number of years. A lot of the time, you could tell when a flame war had fired up on one or between a couple of the boards there, cuz the server got slower. Some people there sent emails to employers & a lot of people had personal info about them posted (names, addresses, phone numbers, financial info, info about spouses, info about any court records, stuff posted years earlier at different sites). The posts of personal info were usually done by sock puppets, so it was impossible to tell "friend" from "foe".
I think the wisest move is to stay out of all factions, including the ones that would normally be attractive, cuz people in it are closer to our own POV. Agreeing with a faction doesn't make one a member of it. It takes off board activity (like gossiping in FReepmail) to become a member. You can never really know who you're dealing with on the net.
I can control the behaviour of exactly one person, me. Any time I find myself tempted to try to tell someone else to control their behaviour to my liking, it's time for me to reel myself in. It works every single time it's tried! I'll express my reaction to things people have written, once, but what they do with it is up to them. If they continue the behaviour, scroll & ignore works better than trying to argue.
Hope you wont mind toooooo much.
Not at all!
