COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

At least four people were shot outside New Life Church on Sunday, but it was not immediately clear if any of them died, El Paso County Sheriff’s Lt. Lari Sevene said. Police have confirmed that the shooter was killed, though they are not saying whether he was shot by police or died of a self-inflicted gunshot.

New Life was founded by the Rev. Ted Haggard, who was fired last year after a former male prostitute alleged he had a three year cash-for-sex relationship.
Haggard, then the president of the National Association of Evangelicals, admitted to undisclosed “sexual immorality.”
The church is one of Colorado’s largest with about 10,000 members.

Reason I , or my family, don’t dwell, patronize or go where open season sign (no guns allowed) is posted at entry for all to read.........these so called massacres seem to be at schools, malls, churches and government offices .........where guns aren’t allowed ?
Maybe bigger print on these signs would help........:o)
There’s plenty of guns in my workplace, way more weapons than people, but no ammunition... :-)

News is reporting its a handgun now.
This is definately one nut. Hope they get this sumbitch quick, He has to be acting strangely. Be on the look out, this guy is mobile in a car, most likely headed out of state. Is he headed N or S? I didnt get to check the map as far as where the first shooting and the last took place.
Somehow, I don't think it's going to work this time. If anything, policemen who attend church are probably going to be asked by their pastors to carry their weapons, and I for one would be absolutely for it.

That’s interesting. Why would you need to go back and discuss a former pastor, when talking about a shooting that had nothing to do with him.
This is my church. I live less than 1 mile away. I left with my family 10 minutes before it started. I have very good friends in the church right now in lock down.
