WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Dick Cheney experienced an irregular heartbeat Monday and will be evaluated at George Washington University Hospital.
The condition was detected when Cheney was seen by doctors for a lingering cough from a cold.
"During examination he was incidentally found to have an irregular heartbeat, which on further testing was determined to be atrial fibrillation, an abnormal rhythm involving the upper chambers of the heart," said spokeswoman Megan Mitchell.
“Yes, but I dont remember. What is it?”
Co-enzyme Q10.
Hi snuggums - hope they’re treating “our man” right! You doing OK?
Do you know that I *almost* wrote “Co-Q 10” and then thought better of it? I was thinking that’s too simple, lol.

Yes, simple, alright. Too simple for physicians to look into it.
They could/would prevent many heart diseases, but they’d be out of business...and $$$$$$$

Shep first.
God Bless Cheney.
Amen, GOP Lady - and thanks for the update South Texas. We must continue praying for VP Cheney.
If anybody in his office is reading this - please let VP Cheney know he is loved, respected, and prayed for here by many - including lurkers who are not posting.
Good news, Yorkie. Thank you.
Except that VP Cheney has a bad heart history and was given treatments and fitted with a device that was meant to “kick in” in case his heartbeat went irregular. Apparently that applied to the lower chambers, though, and recently he had started to develop blood clots, which is a sure sign that the upper chambers might not be functioning properly. So they’re going by his entire history and especially recent history, all of which cannot be accounted for by a reaction to taking cough syrup.
I keeping with honesty, I was pretty sure it was SOS, but paged down and saw the answer by another FReeper.
Good point but it does make me still wonder why British doctors are anti cough syrup and have been for quite a while.
“And let Peloser become VP? No way”
Hillary would have her Fort Marcy’d first!
consider taking toprol 25 mg 1xday. it works to maintain heart regularity and has no significant side effects.
why not appoint someone who is currently running for president? Rather than a spit bucket carrier.
I don’t think he would do that (favoritism). And I think few running for POTUS want to be known as Bush’s new veep, LOL!
Quiz-Boy needs to get over himself. I have atrial fibrillation and I am going in for an angioplasty and a stent tomorrow morning. I WILL be back at work on Thursday. I refuse to step down.
Very common heart problem, most often caused by a pinched nerve between t2 and t3. Not serious.
How is VP Cheney today? What’s the latest?
