Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

"Yes even if I have to write a name in."

Right there with ya, CC. With freedom and opportunity come obligations -- one of the biggees is voting.

If you can live with that, hey, be my guest, it is still a free country...at least till President Hillary takes the oath on 01-20-09.

I can guarantee you that my vote won't be dictated by a paranoic fear of Hillary Clinton being elected.

If Rudy's supporters get him nominated, he will NOT win in November. In fact, he may come in third. If so, the supporters of the third party candidate who finishes second will blame those of you who mindlessly vote for Rudy that YOU are to blame for the election of Hillary.

How's that for a threat? Are you impressed? I don't think so. If Rudy is nominated, I don't think anyone is gonna be able to threaten you such that you won't vote for Rudy in November. You're making that clear.

You just need to understand that we're JUST LIKE YOU. We won't be induced by threats to vote for Rudy. Ever. His election would be the WORST POSSIBLE OUTCOME.

I will be voting for the libertarian candidate. My issue is the income tax, And they are the only ones talking about getting rid of it.

I don't care who the Republicans run. I dont like any of them especially Rudy. Too many RINO's in the Republican party and I feel they start losing elections before they wake up.

And if that means that the democrats start winning and using the government to take away more and more of our rights, (which they most certainly will do especially regarding guns), then Americans will be forced to decide how far they really need to go preserve their liberties then won't they ???

Its when times are hard that we find out who the real Americans are.

I will vote for the Republican nominee, even if I have to hold my nose while doing so. If the nominee is Giuliani, I will vote for him and will try to convince others to vote for him.

” Then you vote for the person you really believe in, not because you think that he can win against the Democrats. “ AGREE and that is my philosophy as well.

You had some interesting thoughts as well including Ramos and Compean and the Bush buddy who convicted these two men. Nothing like undermining the Border Patrol for doing their job. Kind of like having attorneys in Iraq/everywhere looking to criminalize our troops for defending our freedoms.

I would add, but please do not accepting this as me conceding to my original post, a Rino/Hunter ticket could prevent me from doing a write in.

Like husband like wife.

I have a hard time understanding how some here will vote for a liberal in conservative clothing.

My loyalty is to the conservative cause. Not some cross-dressing, whore-mongering, abortion supporting, gun-grabbing liberal.

FYI, I don’t see all that much difference between Rudy and Hillary.

Remember how Bill Clinton let Bin Laden and AlQaeda attacked our county repeatedly and Bin Laden even went on television to make threats against the United States, yet Clinton declined to go after AlQaeda as a large terrorist network. Instead he only rounded up four or five terrorists after the 1993 World Trade bombing and looked no furter. He had no interest in seriously dealing with terrorism. If we had a real president from 1993 to 2000, I doubt that 9/11 would have happened. I hope all voters realize that the President is the nation’s watchdog, not a nanny.

No, the paranoiac fear will strike you on January 20th 2009, when you realize that Hillary! is fully in control of the White House and Congress, and holds the keys to the Supreme Court.

But hey, don't worry...you helped make sure a less-than-perfect Republican didn't get in!

...and voting for no one won’t “depart from evils,” because one of the evil candidates will be elected. It is better to try to minimize the evil elected, rather than do nothing.

Of course, I’m not so sure how different HIllary and Rudy are...no one has explained that yet.

The Term “President Hillary Clinton” must also be preferable to those who seem to think we should fall lockstep in with whatever the liberals in the Republican party think!

Rudy hasn’t won the nomination. I haven’t given up on the party yet!

But if you think some of us conservative are going to stand by and be treated the same way the Democrats treat the black vote, with a pat on the head and a little thank you, guess again.

If the Republican party chooses Rudy, they will leave me behind.

Screw em.

Still waiting for you to tell us why Hillary! WILL be impeached. Ask the 1998-99 GOP Congress...how easy was it...and they had ACTIONABLE evidence of Bubba's malingering, and a MAJORITY in both houses of Congress.

I will be voting for a candidate that believes in the Constitution and smaller, less intrusive government. I’m sure I’ll be able to find a candidate like that even if neither of the majors produce one.

Oh and you can bet your bottom dollar that a pro life candidate will come forward if Rudy is the nominee.

Not some whacko like Judge Moore but a more credible one.

I’ll vote for him.

But hey, don't worry...you helped make sure a less-than-perfect Republican didn't get in!

No, it would be the Republican party itself that can take all the blame if Hitlery wins the White House. Why? Because the party and it's apologists would have insisted that the only way to beat a liberal would be to run a "liberal-lite". That ain't going to fly - either the Republicans fashion a conservative candidate or the won't win. Period!

I'm sick of all this "vote republican or you're with the enemy" camp. I don't do group-think, and I don't expect my fellow conservatives to do so either. I vote CONSERVATIVE, and that, especially of late, is not synonymous with Republican.
