The inside of his ears had been burned with cigarettes. He was forced to drink shampoo. >His caretakers bent two of his toes to the point that an amputation may be necessary, according to reports.
When a Westgate Resorts administrative assistant spotted the 7-year-old trying to serve himself cereal at the buffet in their Osceola County sales center earlier this month, the first thing she noticed was his trembling arms. They were too thin. His eyes were sunken.
"He was really skinny," said Westgate employee Hilda Berrios. "He looked like one of those kids you see on TV." "As I focused, looking on him, I noticed the bruises and the cuts. I just kept noticing one thing after another. I was like, this isn't right."
Berrios contacted her manager, who contacted Westgate security, which called the Sheriff's Office.
The Department of Children and Families on Tuesday said Berrios and two other employees -- Steve Siegel and Humberto Garcia -- likely saved the boy's life.
The boy, who was alone when Berrios spotted him, had a large bruise on his temple and dried blood on his head. His legs were black and blue. Berrios asked the boy if he knew where his mom was. He didn't. She asked if he could spot her in the room. "There was no one," she said. "No one."
Two Baker County women who cared for the boy, Suzette Renee Stevenson, 45, and her girlfriend, Jamie Lynn Martin, 26, are accused of leaving the child in a car while they toured Westgate's time-shares Nov. 6. Each woman was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse. Martin is being held at the Columbia County Jail, and Stevenson is jailed in Baker County.

I have another thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving; two child abusers in custody and a little boy freed from his bondage.
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if some judge let these gals off with no time. Reason: there would be no one to care for the boy.
And to think, some claim the human race is civilized.
Well, there is always the Polar Bear Cage at the local zoo, throw them over. Seriously, I hope the book is thrown at them. When they get released to the local prison population, they do not take too kindly to child abusers - so I guess an attitude adjustment will be scheduled for the both of them. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family./Just Asking - seoul62........
Ah, but they WILL get the time-share, only it'll be in the Greybar Motel.
From there, they'll be transferred to an eternal time-share in Satan's Hot Springs Resort featuring its famous Brimstone Bar and Grill.

I don’t doubt it.
I think that the one thing that would help towards reforming our ENTIRE legal system is: sanctions for irresponsibility or malice. I was taken to court once, raved to my lawyer about some sort of penalty for “frivolous lawsuits,” and was informed that (basically) the phrase is legally meaningless. Anyone can sue anyone for anything. Win or not, those thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours are gone, gone, gone.
So I’m thinking along the lines of Deuteronomy 19:16-21. No surprise, but I see a lot of wisdom in that legislation.
I know it wasn't intentionable, but these: Suzette Renee Stevenson, 45, and her girlfriend, Jamie Lynn Martin, 26, are not 'parents'.
By my scientific calculations, it would take 73 years for them to use up their fat reserves and starve to death.
While it is really irrelevant, and I have no evidence either way, if Berrios , Siegel and Garcia had done something bad, someone by now would certainly have claimed that at least two of them were probably illegal aliens!
That poor, poor little boy. He's going to need mental help for a long time to get past what these two women did to him.

I might consider taking up smoking for one day if I could use these women as my ashtray.
I may be off base here but does anyone else think the (nearly) comical headline takes away from the overall seriousness of this heartbreaking story?
All the cultural gatekeepers are on vacation.
from the article apparently the single mother died and the father did not want the boy so he was sent to live with an aunt and her female sex partner. The aunt died and the female sex partner found a new recreational sex partner and kept the boy as a pin cushion. literally.
(read the part about the boys hands being nailed to the wall and forcing the boy to stand against the wall crucified)
These women are truly monsters.
and those people want to change florida law to allow people with these attitudes to adopt children to do more of the same!
