11/09/2007 Kerry Spokesman Sets Limbaugh Straight on Swiftboat Smears
WASHINGTON D.C. – Kerry spokesman David Wade issued the following statement today in response to Rush Limbaugh, who said on his radio show that Kerry’s Swift Boat attackers in 2004, “were right on the money and nobody has disproven anything they claimed in any of their ads, statements, written commentaries, or anything of the sort.”
“At first I thought, that’s not Rush, that’s just the OxyContin talking. Nonetheless, this is a despicable but unsurprising new lie from a man whose closest brush with combat came when customs officials tried to take away his Viagra. This portly peddler of hate is once again wrong on the facts. John Kerry served his country with honor in Vietnam, and has fought for his fellow veterans ever since. The lies and smears of the Swift Boat Veterans for Bush were disproved conclusively in 2004 by the men who fought by John Kerry’s side in Vietnam, by the military’s own records, by investigative journalists, and by the incredible contradictions that exposed these right wing smear artists. It is long past time that we end the politics of fear and smear that we have seen used against decorated veterans from John McCain to Max Cleland and John Kerry. Rush Limbaugh’s ignorance and determination to divide Americans is just another reminder that you can’t spell ‘Rush Limbaugh’ without the letters L-I-A-R.”

You can’t spell John Kerry without “J-O”.
Why has Kerry not released his medical records like he said he would? Let Max Cleland produce his records as to how he was wounded. People like Kerry and Cleland have done more harm to deserving veterans than the press.
I’m sorry if my response was confusing. The things that Kerry said about those serving in Viet Nam were horrible. He deserves to rot in hell for what he did to those still serving. He saw a way to get publicity, and he took it, his comrades in arms be damned.
But, I’m talking about the reasons for his original discharge, which he won’t release. I’ve always understood that it was less than honorable because he was meeting with the enemy, which I’ve also understood to be treason. But, until he releases those records, the nature of his original discharge and the reasons for it are speculation.
Point well made and accepted. Can you tell that this is a hot button issue for me?? :-)

Great observation, that is the bigger picture and debt we all owe the Swifties. That will survive long after Kerry is dead, buried, and grave pi$$ed. But ‘the media still censors anything crical of Kerry’/Klinton/kommies everywhere! Hopefully that will end eventually as the dinosaur media submerges into their tarpits!

He was the first person down those steps, he brought no one with him he was in a panic and that sight is burned into America’s history. I never saw that film again, it was buried the same way his records have been and his cowardly actions have been hidden or covered up by the communist media. Wade is a little S**T, all mouth and no brain. He was the one who said that Kerry was in Cambodia in Christmas, 1969 after everyone else backed off of that claim.
Kerry claimed he was fired on by the So. Vietnamese, VC, Cambodians, and Santa. It gets very dark on the rivers of Vietnam and Cambodia at night. If you were to get shot at, you wouldn’t know who was doing it, and I doubt if you would stand up and ask your killers to identify themselves.

The “media matters fact check” has absolutely no useful information. Doesn’t even address Kerry’s claim about Cambodia.
There is a reason Kerry has never authorized the release of all of his military records. I can’t believe no one has ever asked him why his discharge is dated 20 years after he got out of the Navy.
I read the Media Matters link, and none of thier talking points disprove a single allegation of the Swift Boaters.
