Meeting so many FReepers in DC my very first trip there was awesome!
Basil, that "midnight walk" to sit on the Capitol steps, to marvel at the beauty is a memory I'll treasure always!
We walked from the Senators Grill (Or is it called 'Bar?') sometime well after dark. Wonderful! T'wit, God rest his soul, laughed so hard that night. Then I went running outside to meet The Jim Robinson, and actually helped carry in some luggage. LOL
I had a lot of the people there sign a book I had brought (Can't remember the author's name right now, but he had worked for a government agency and spoke at the rally. Hey, cut me some slack, I'm getting elderly and my memory leaks a lot!)
I'm still around, and log onto FR daily. Been here officially since March 29, 1998, but lurked a long time before that.

Are you talking about Gary Aldrich and this book, perhaps?
Of course we remember you. You're not that easy to forget. You're one of a kind, Budge. Sorry I've been so remiss in keepikng in touch. You just did catch me. I'm on the run as usual. Was just fixin' to turn the computer off and head out for the day. You kids play nice, now!

Only because we remember your cat in a mixing bowl...
Who could forget you? I remember you helping me load all that stuff in the van the morning of the rally.
What a day!
Budge, we met in that bar, and quaffed an ale there. I remember it well - hell, we all got to put faces with the names back then.
I gotta put your mug back on my Freep-Page. Somebody else did it for me years ago, and the hosting site went away. I have since learned how to do it myself, but I forgot you were there, bud!
Stay well, pal .......................... FRegards
