Is there a specific date FreeRepublicans celebrate FR's birth? Or is there a day it ought to be celebrated (besides every day)?

I was here back when you had to close your html's!
So was I.
I remember when someone would super-size their text and forget to close it, and the following posts would appear in huge letters until someone corrected it.
Those days were great!

Who could forget you? I remember you helping me load all that stuff in the van the morning of the rally.
What a day!

Are you talking about Gary Aldrich and this book, perhaps? BINGO, that's the one. I still have that treasure, safely packed away...I moved recently and a lot of stuff/treasures are still packed away. :)

Hi Nic! I thought we were supposed to slow down around 65 or so. Not so, I'm buiser now at (almost) 73 than I was 10 years ago!<
Hi SL! E-mail me your number, would love to just chat a bit.

...and a good time was had by all! LOL
I also remember T'wit getting such a kick out of me 'policing' the grounds and putting cigarette butts in the hollow of my arm. He told that story several times here. :)

The election process has just begun. I have a good shot at the nomination. And if I get the nomination, I should defeat the temporary Democrat incumbent. Thanks for asking.

I was one of those who presented David Schippers with the FR award at his office here in Chicago, and thus was in a great position to ask him to autograph my copy of this book:

I enjoyed A+Bert (and others) Don Morgan and his Ash and Lemming Alerts.
There are many ghosts of Freepers past that made the forum what it is today. I can still find them in cyberspace on different forums.
The flame wars were passionate, exhausting and provided great entertainment. Only the strong survived back then. But that was before we had Mods and abuse buttons..sigh..:)
