Chuck Norris does not vote for president of the United States. He gives the voting machine a swift roundhouse kick and Mike Huckabee wins.
So the joke would read after the martial arts star announced his endorsement Sunday for the former Arkansas governor.
"Though (Rudy) Giuliani might be savvy enough to lead people, Fred Thompson wise enough to wade through the tides of politics, (John) McCain tough enough to fight terrorism, and (Mitt) Romney business-minded enough to grow our economy, I believe the only one who has all of the characteristics to lead America forward into the future is ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee," Chuck Norris wrote in a commentary posted on WorldNetDaily.com.

Norris listed Huckabees upbringing, family values and the fact that hes an avid outdoorsman as reasons for backing.

My favorite:
Chuck Norris has counted to infinity... TWICE!
Everyone’s down on Huckabee because of his immigration record. Three things you have to ask yourself:
1. Does he have the debating skills and ideas to beat Hillary? I think he does after he tore into her in Florida.
2. Can he change his ways on issues like immigration?
Immigration only recently became a hot button issue. Denying illegals anything during the politically correct years of the 90’s was tantamount to political suicide.
3. Does he do his best to keep his campaign promises?
I would think Huckabee’s word is important to him.
We should be asking these questions about all the candidates.
Every night before the Boogeyman goes to sleep he checks under the bed to make sure Chuck Norris isn’t there.
I no more trust Huckabee on illegals than I do Giuliani on abortion. It shouldn't take someone "seeing" the light on an obvious issue, nor are such "campaign conversions" typically honest or convincing.
That right there is your dream team! ... and Chuck Norris as secretary of defense defense department.
I guess when they passed out a sense of humor, you were home that day.
I guess when they passed out a sense of humor, you were home that day.
I guess when they passed out a sense of humor, you were home that day.
I agree with your post.
What is up with all this MSM pushing the Huck envolope?
He announced September 14.
This is Norris’ official entry into the realm of know-nothing celebrities with an opinion. That he is so enamored of the man we Arkansans refer to as “The Huckster” demonstrates that Norris is no more or less intelligent than anyone else with an opinion. Hear this, people: Mike Huckabee is NOT A CONSERVATIVE, and he is pro-illegal immigration. He may be slick behind a podium in a so-called “debate” among a bunch of mental midgets, but he could not get elected dog catcher in his home state. People here are fed-up with his phony popularism.
How’d this get in breaking news????
I didn’t put it there.......
Oh well, carry on.
GLENN: But if you had a gun to your head today, who would you vote for?So there ya go. Chuck and the Nuge say Huckabee is the man. That's a pretty tough set of endorsements to deny.
NUGENT: Do I really have to answer that question?
GLENN: Yeah.
NUGENT: It's tough. My favorite man or individual running for the presidency of the United States of America right now today, since you're holding that gun to my head.
GLENN: Yeah.
NUGENT: Is a man who covers all the bases for we the people, the U.S. constitution, the Bill of Rights, decency and that's Mike Huckabee.
GLENN: Mike Huckabee, I would have thought you were a Ron Paul guy.
NUGENT: Ron's a good man, Fred Thompson's a good man, I like Mitt Romney and Mr. Giuliani on many levels. But no one in my estimation today -- and I'm not voting today.
GLENN: No, no, if you had a gun to my head. We're the same way. I would never draw a gun on you because I'd lose.
NUGENT: But Mike Huckabee, I'm telling you I've spent time with the man, I've watched how he conducts his personal life, his family life as governor of the State of Arkansas.
GLENN: Oh, Ted, personal life doesn't -- personal life, personal life doesn't matter. You know that. You learned that.
NUGENT: Well, a person's moral compass, I believe.
GLENN: What did you say?
NUGENT: It's an indicator of a person's moral compass, I believe.
GLENN: No! No! Bill Clinton told me. Bill Clinton told me personal life doesn't -- just go in and do the right thing. You know, from 9:00 to 5:00. You can do whatever you want outside at 9:00 to 5:00.
NUGENT: I don't think so.
GLENN: All right. Ted, always good to talk to you, sir.
NUGENT: Glenn, God speed.
Chuck,
Shut up and ‘act’. (as best you can, anyway)
Taking political advice from Chuck Norris/Ted Nugent et. al. is about as intelligent as taking political advice from the Dixie Chicks. None of them are paid for their political acumen.
If Charlie Daniels comes in next....its pretty much a lock.
Maybe he is trying to get his foot in the door. Maybe trying to get people to associate his name with politics....you know, like other actors.
Guys like Clint Eastwood and Arnold. Oh yeah, Fred Thompson.
...and what was that other actor???
AHA! I remember! Ronald Reagan.
Press Release: Mike Huckabee Comments on Marriage
Little Rock, AR Former AR Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee today issued the following statement in response to a news story stating that he is open to state-sponsored civil unions that would bestow the legal rights of marriage on gay and lesbian couples:
This report is simply inaccurate. I do not support legal recognition of alternative unions. I strongly, firmly and unequivocally believe that the traditional definition of marriage is for one man, one woman, for life. That is why I worked hard in Arkansas to enact legislation at the state level to protect traditional marriage, and why I have vowed to work hard for federal language as President.
While I believe that people have a right to decide how they live their personal lives, they have to respect not changing the definition of marriage.
