Hillary Clinton leads Rudy Giuliani 51% to 40% in an early look at the race for New Jerseys Electoral Votes. A Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that Clinton has larger leads over other Republican Presidential hopefuls. She leads Fred Thompson by eighteen points (53% to 35%), John McCain by sixteen (52% to 36%), and Mitt Romney by twenty-four (55% to 41%).
Clinton is viewed favorably by 58% of Garden State voters while Giuliani earns positive reviews from 59%. Fifty percent (50%) offer a positive assessment of both Thompson and McCain while 39% express a favorable opinion of Romney.
Seventy-seven percent (77%) of the states voters say its at least Somewhat Likely that Democrats will win New Jersey in Election 2008. Only 12% say its not likely.
Before that, however, there are state legislative elections featuring corruption and property tax relief as leading issues. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters say corruption is the top issue while 36% are more interested in property taxes. However, they dont have much faith in either political party to address either issue.
Thirty-three percent (33%) say they trust Democrats more on the corruption issue while 29% prefer the GOP. Thirty-three percent (33%) dont trust either party and 5% are not sure.
What?! After giving Corzine and the other Rodents absolute power, Jersey voters still think the Rodents ate ethical? Invest any campaign to win Jersey is a waste of money.
NJ is a liberal hotbed...no surprise here.
Well if Rudy can’t compete in either NJ or NY why are we considering him as a nominee?
NJ is the home of organized crime. Hillary will let them be if they support her. It’s not about the money, it’s about the power she can gain. It has never been about the money to the Clinton’s........just the power. If this lady gets elected, we are going down the tube in the eyes of the world.
Lib’rals and RINOs and RATS- OH MY!

Somebody stick a fork in Joisey...we’re done!
“Well if Rudy cant compete in either NJ or NY why are we considering him as a nominee?”
I’m fairly sure that no Republican will be able to win NJ or NY at this stage. They’re nanny, welfare, teet-sucking states who rely on the Demonrats to keep the tap flowing.
Random telephone poll, not likely voters or even registered voters. Use this poll to wrap fish or line your bird cage but otherwise it has no value.
Whoa! Disregard my prior post. The article doesn’t go into the methodology other than to say it was a telephone poll but I checked the link out and it said in the small print that it was a poll of likely voters. Much better pedigree.
The state is so full of libs that it will take a miracle to get rid of the corruption and dem politics.
You know the saying about..."if a**holes could fly this place would be an airport", well thats New Jersey!
One big airport!
I don't know.
I think you watched one too many episodes of the Sopranos, FRiend, if you think the organized crime vote influences Jersey elections.
First off, it has now been more than a year since George W. Bush’s job approval rating was above 40 percent in the Gallup poll. Bush is at 32 percent approval, 64 percent disapproval in the new survey; the last time Bush was above 40 percent was in a poll taken in mid-September 2006.
Second, Rudy Giuliani’s favorable rating has dipped below 50 percent for the first time ever. He is at 49 percent favorable, 39 percent unfavorable in the new poll. That’s a significant drop from a few weeks ago, when he was at 54 percent favorable, 30 percent unfavorable. In August, he was at 59 percent favorable, 27 percent unfavorable.
Fred Thompson has still not made an impression on a significant part of the voting public. In the new poll, he is at 32 percent favorable, 30 percent unfavorable that unfavorable number is up six points since early this month with 23 percent saying they’ve never heard of him and 15 percent saying they have no opinion.
Mitt Romney’s unfavorable rating still outweighs his favorable rating. He is at 26 percent favorable, 34 percent unfavorable in the new survey. And John McCain is steady at 46 favorable, 37 unfavorable, somewhat recovered from his summer swoon.
Hillary Clinton’s favorable rating has been slowly ticking up and is now the equal of Barack Obama’s. She is at 53 percent favorable, 44 percent unfavorable in the new poll. Beginning in August, her favorable ratings have gone from 47 to 49 to 51 to 53, while her unfavorables have gone from 48 to 46 to 44.
Obama still has significantly lower unfavorables than Clinton, with 53 percent favorable, 32 percent unfavorable.
The Giuliani campaign still clings to the notion that California, New York, and New Jersey are in play for him. If Giuliani actually spends time in those liberal cesspools, then Hillary could sneak Va or MO into her win column. Rasmussen Reports has Missouri to be a tossup.
Plenty of fine folk there who think that Dem = FDR and that the New Deal and Soc Sec will pay for themselves EVENTUALLY.
Additionally, he DOES put some traditionally red states into play by creating the possibility of a third party conservative siphoning off just enough votes.
I am ashamed to be a citizen of New Jersey.
As soon as our child graduates from high school, we’re OUTAHERE.
Guaranteed.
‘Well if Rudy cant compete in either NJ or NY why are we considering him as a nominee?’
Consider how badly the GOP misjudged the border security/amnesty debate....and you get your answer.
Because in the last poll he was ahead in OH, KY, and tied in WI . . . and no one else was even close in these states, not even Fred.
Never watched that show....sorry. Just history of organized crime and the control of the unions in the area. NJ is the home of the five families of the mafia. Read up on your history.
