Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
Pierced? Desn’t sound like crucifixion to me! I had my ears pierced many years ago. You are trying to fit Isaiah into the story of Jesus’s death. We will have to agree to disagree. Do you know how many people were crucified by the Romans? Do you have any idea at all? You are free to believe what you want - BUT IT IS JUDAISM FOR ME!!!!!! Sorry, Bubba!
You are very brainwashed. I pray for you!
Ann told the truth after being badgered for 10 minutes to give the answer the host wanted.
Yes, AC stuck her shoe - or foot - in her mouth, but, even at that, about the only insensitive thing she said was to invite Donny (knowing he was Jewish) to church with her. For historical reasons, Jews are forbidden to attend church services, or religious services of other faiths, for that matter.
Of course, Coulter has no government position at all and hardly can be called a GOP spokesperson or leader. Contrast that with the likes of Dems Carter, Pelosi, Moran, and Her Royal Thighness, et al, all of whom have made statements and/or engaged in actions that reasonably be construed as antisemitic or anti-Israel.
To what extent are Jews already "christian" in the sense that they already knew the Second Commandment of Jesus before he even said it? (to treat others as one would like to be treated). It was not one of their Ten Commandments but was written in the Torah and was observed in their culture in spades. And to what extent are Christians "jews" in the sense that we accept the "old testament"?
Good for you Ann. You obviously realize there is no point in having a religion unless you believe it is the best one, the truest one--or as you said and as I have held, "the fast track." I have called it "the Reader's Digest Condensed Version" of the "old testament" and "the answers in the back of the teachers' edition of the math book."
Nothing.
You leave out the fact that she said in a political context, in fact inserted politics into the discussion when she answered OK, take the Republican National Convention. People were happy. They're Christian...It would be better if we were all Christian? ...Yes. ...We should all be Christian? ...Yes. Would you like to come to church with me, Donny?
That's not a Republican position, in fact it's not even an American position.
She said it Monday, if that's not what she meant she should have clarified her position by now, even if it meant a little less controversy.
Surely Jews believe they have the BEST belief of all, or else they would change their belief. So wouldnt they want that for everybody? We know muslims want it for everybody.
No, Jews don't believe that. In simple terms, if you're a monotheist and can handle 7 of the 10 Comandments, 1) to establish courts of justice; 2) not to commit blasphemy; 3) not to commit idolatry; 4) not to commit incest and adultery; 5) not to commit bloodshed; 6) not to commit robbery; and 7) not to eat flesh cut from a living animal. you get to heaven. Simplistic explanation at the link. There's no need to advocate conversion.
To be fair, I think he really was shocked by what she said, because he just didnt understand and really took it as equivalent to what Hitler wanted to do in Germany. Once he had that thought in his head, she couldnt possibly explain it different to him.
She's had ample time to explain. I haven't a clue to what extent she thinks her beliefs should apply in the political realm. I don't much care about her beliefs or political opinions, because I consider her a bombthrower, largely out for herself, but I'd like her to leave the Republican Party out of it.
Yeah. These days almost everything is justified using this criteria.
Well, you know anytime you say the word Jesus or mention Christianity as the only way to the Father, people get ticked off.
... which sold a lot of books.
Just sayin'.
Yeah, I know, but that's their problem. I shake their dust from my sandals and move on.
This quote was a little insulting but I still love it
“Even Islamic terrorists don’t hate America like liberals do. They don’t have the energy. If they had that much energy, they’d have indoor plumbing by now.” Ann Coulter
thank you. It IS correct. Mxxx
Sorry, but she’s right.
It’s NOT a joke. We Christians believe exactly that. She has the courage to speak it and most of us don’t.
You are culturally Jewish even if you aren’t one religiously.
You have to understand, we Christians are meant to be seen but not heard soas not to offend the non-Christians. God forbid we offend a Jew or Mooselip.

Christians aren’t mostly sinners, we’re ALL sinners, but saved by grace. I, too, wish we would all live like Christ wants us to live but we are blitzed on all sides by the materialism of our culture. It’s hard, but not impossible. Many don’t want to work that hard, to their detriment. I’m doing a great study by Beth Moore on Daniel and she talks about fighting the babylonian mindset of our culture—affluance, materialism, images of ourselves that either aren’t true or put on us by others. It’s a very interesting study. Wish everyone could read it.
Christians DO believe their way is right. That’s why we’re Christians. Either Jesus lied, was a fanatic, or told the truth. I believe HE is the truth.
