Frost Family Draws Ire of Conservatives ( MSM Fights Back! Free Republic mentioned)
The Baltimore Sun ^ | Wednesday, October 10, 2007 | Matthew Hay Brown

SNIP

The onslaught began over the weekend, a week after 12-year-old Graeme Frost delivered the Democrats' weekly radio address with a plea to Bush to sign the bill. A contributor to the conservative Web site Free Republic noted Graeme's enrollment in the private Park School and the sale of a smaller rowhouse on the Frosts' block for $485,000 this year and questioned whether the family should be taking advantage of the state program.

SNIP

The Frosts say the description of their family's circumstances now circulating is misleading. Halsey, they say, is a self-employed woodworker - he has no employees - while Bonnie works part time for a medical publishing firm. Together, they say, they earn between $45,000 and $50,000 a year.

That would make the Frosts eligible for Maryland's Children's Health Program, which is open to families that earn no more than 300 percent of the federal poverty level, or $82,830 a year for a family of six.

The Frosts declined to show The Sun their 2006 income tax returns...

SNIP

Halsey Frost purchased the family home for $55,000 in 1990, according to city records, and refinanced in 2005, he says, to make improvements to accommodate the return of Graeme and Gemma from the hospital. The 1936 brick rowhouse, on a side street near Patterson Park, has an assessed value of $263,140.

Halsey Frost purchased a 1920 warehouse in East Baltimore for $160,000 in 1999, according to city records. It is assessed at $160,500. Frost says he is still paying off the mortgages on both properties.

The four Frost children depend on financial aid to attend private school, the Frosts say. In addition, they say, Gemma receives money from the city for special education made necessary by her injuries.

DC RATS are notorious for leaks, especially when it come to Top Secret and sensitive info. It's time for someone on our side to leak their tax info from the IRS....THIS IS WAR!!

people should really think twice before they open their families up to something like this. And you’d better darn well be on the up and up!
Liberals are so ‘me’’me’’me’ focused that often they hurt everyone involved with their in-your-face shenanigans.

If the school is a 501(c)(3), it’s Form 990’s are available online.

I wonder how much he rent his company pays him?

And if his accountant is really on top of things, the company owns his house, cars, furniture, clothing(uniforms), provides telephone and cable/satellite so the officers can stay informed, cell phones, and the list goers on and on.

After all, the tax codes were written by well-heeled Congress-critters who are certainly not going to tax themselves or others like them.

As Leona said, "Taxes are for little people."

Their commercial property and other assets may be held in a LLC and the husband only pays themselves a small salary to minimize his tax burden.

That LLC is defunct according to the State of Maryland.

Diversified Industrial Center, LLC

See post #79 for info about the unreported rental income on the property.

Got this off of the Austin Statesman online. The business that the critics said Halsey Frost owned was dissolved in 1999.

Halsey Frost now works intermittently in woodworking and as a welder, while Bonnie Frost has a part-time administrative job at a firm that provides services to publishers of medical journals. Her job does not provide health coverage.

IF the "business" was dissolved, then he started another and why is he working "intermittently"? A bum? get a job! a real job working for someone who will pay you a salary to support your family.

And, why didn’t their auto insurance pay for the children’s accident bills?
How does one pay the mortgages on 160,000, and whatever the refinance of their home on such a low income?

It looks like to me, that even as dumb as the dems are, they could have found a better poster boy. In fact, I know that they could have.”

I love it that the Dems picked this couple and this kid.

It just highlights what most of us have suspected for years:

There are some severe CHEATERS living among us and we are sick and tired of it.

In fact, I would say that the disease of “sick and tired of it all” is the most predominant disease in the adult population of CITIZENS of the USA.

This whole family needs a serious ISA audit because the numbers just do NOT add up.
I have been a bookkeeper for over 40 years. This smells to high heaven with all their holdings and mortgages and kids. The good old American dollar just does NOT stretch that for for any of us. I don’t care how inventive you are and how much you can reuse your ziplock bags in the kitchen, this just doesn’t add up.
There has to be a Freeper somewhere who can instigate an audit and look hard into the finances of the Frosts.

I know....they are HIDING their INCOME it looks like.

Either that, or this carpenter is only working about six weeks a year. A typical week-long remodel of a kitchen or bathroom will run $8-10 thousand at a minimum, and it sounds like like guy is only making (or reporting) $30-35 thousand a year.

I sent this to several conservative talk show hosts and authors. Michelle Malkin picked up on it this AM.

Anyone see a pattern? Clinton, Gore and Kerry all used phony human props to cite their position on health care insurance.

During John Kerry's nomination acceptance speech during the 2004 DNC, he trotted out his health insurance "poster child", Mary Ann Knowles. Kerry stated that she had to "keep working day after day right through her chemotherapy, no matter how sick she felt, because she was terrified of losing her family's health insurance". In reality, she had excellent coverage with 26 weeks of paid disability leave, but she chose to work through most of her treatment because her husband was unemployed.

Video of Kerry's Speech

Al Gore tried this same tactic in 2000 with Winifred Skinner.

Al Gore said, "It brings tears to your eyes. Here's this adorable, elderly woman out in Iowa who's so sick and so poor, that in order to pay for medicines she needs to stay alive, she has to scavenge in a local dump yard for cast-off tin cans."

"She gets a small pension," he said. "But in order to pay for her prescription drug benefits she has to go out seven days a week, several hours a day, picking up cans."

It turns out, as the statement was rectified, Mrs. Skinner goes out zero days a week, for zero hours a day, and that she was only speaking "in the name of" people she assumes must do this.

In 1994, Hillary Clinton used Kathy Bush when citing her case as an example of the high cost of medical care.

Later, investigators found the mother guilty of intentionally making her daughter sick and forcing her to undergo more than 40 needless surgeries, in what prosecutors called a case of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

“Forty-two-year old Kathy Bush had been charged with aggravated child abuse and fraud for bilking thousands of dollars from the State of Florida for medical expenses incurred by her daughter, Jennifer. The mother faces up to 45 years in prison.”

over the last four consecutive weekends how John Kerry was outted
I know Kerry was outed by the Swiftboat heroes, but that was three years ago. What did I miss in the last few weeks?

I suppose I could have worded it better...

What I’m saying is in 04, the MSM and the leftwingnuts should have learned you cannot get away with the bs that we keep seeing promoted. The bloggers have outted so many fraudulent claims, its amazing its still being attempted TODAY.

The line about insanity being repeating the same action and expecting a different result comes to mind.

On the positive side, the leftwingnuts demonstrate they don’t learn from mistakes, and as such keeping making them over and over again.

If you register for a free account at http://www.guidestar.org/ you can review the Form 990 filings for the Park School of Baltimore at http://www.guidestar.org/pqShowGsReport.do?npoId=646163

A premium membership to Guidestar is needed to view income and asset reports.

Their 2006 Form 990 is at this link: http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2006/520/591/2006-520591625-031a72a8-9.pdf

They show $3.2 million of grants and allocations, which according to Statement 20 is where they show their tuition remission and financial assistance. If they showed it on “specific assistance to individuals” they’d have to show the name and address of all recipients, if I’m remembering the Form 990 rules correctly.

I agree. And since the SCHIP program is a federally tax funded program, then we, the taxpayers, should be able to obtain that family's financial information via the Freedom of Information Act.
