humblegunner has been in the hospital since last Wednesday, October 3.
He has been extremely ill and today, after four days of antibiotics and the removal of a large amount of fluid from the area surrounding his right lung, he is finally beginning to feel better. His doctors have said that he will be hospitalized for several more days.
Thank y’all. But, ENOUGH!!! There are a lot of sweethearts around here, including you gals!
Heck, I think all of these prayers may be turning HG into a sweetheart...pax has him listening to Rush and making polite requests, and everything!
Of course, we aren’t privy to his COMMENTS about Rush, since he’s not posting right now...time will tell!
Seriously - this thread is an example of one of the things I love most about FR. The humor, caring, and FRiendship, shown here, as we come together for this good purpose, is a blessing - not just for humblegunner - but, for all of us, I think. I know it is for me.
Of course, I know being nice gets difficult for those who have their gruff reputations to maintain, so hurry up and get well, HG! The whole country is praying for you!!!

When I asked him if they had determined the specific type of infection he had, he told me that his doctors had asked two specialists to look at his case. They did and they have no idea what critter is causing this. They’ve sent his information to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta for analysis..............Mrs. Eastie says we got to get Scully and Moulder involved. In all seriousness one of the best known UFO encounters happened just a mile or two down the road about 25 years ago, no joke there.http://www.ufoevidence.org/cases/case86.htm, so now we know the rest of the story.

I think Misery is an excellent first selection of the Geriatric Sluts Book Club. It's full of intriguing ideas! I'll need to invest in a package of new highlighters....
Xena, being named a Geriatric Slut isn't something one does, it is something which happens to one when humble doesn't approve of one's wandering around the city all hours of the night (while causing only a minimum of trouble) with other reputable young lady FReepers like TheMom and Allegra.
When Allegra is home for Christmas I'm sure the Westheimer Wonders (originally "Wanderers") will, once again, grace the streets of our fair city for a night or two..... at least.... ;-)

humble called and told me that he walked this evening and was feeling pretty good.
He said that his doctor told him that he's doing well enough that his epidural can be removed and that he can probably move to a regular room tomorrow.
I didn't go by to see him today. Instead I went to see "Arsenic and Old Lace".... just doing a little research to prepare for dealing with Old Grumpy.

I plan to go by to see him tomorrow evening if he promises to be sweet and endearing.
