Fired University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill will return to the Boulder campus next week to begin teaching an unsanctioned course that's being organized by his student supporters.
University officials have distanced themselves from the planned lecture series slated to begin Tuesday night and say that Churchill remains terminated.
The students organizing Churchill's teachings say the series is intended for those who "missed out" on his years as an American Indian studies professor and as head of the ethnic studies department at CU.
Churchill's supporters can hold the classes on campus because the university allows student groups to reserve classrooms when they are not in use.
In July, CU regents voted 8-1 to fire Churchill because of academic-misconduct violations. Churchill has not been allowed to hold official classes on the campus since May 2006, when the university stripped him of his teaching, research and service duties after a panel of scholars found patterns of deliberate academic-misconduct violations, including plagiarism and fabrication.
Churchill has filed a lawsuit against the school saying his controversial speech motivated his dismissal. The professor ignited a national furor in 2005 when his essay on the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks called some victims "little Eichmanns," a reference to Adolf Eichmann, who helped carry out Hitler's plan to exterminate Europe's Jews during World War II.
Churchill supporter Ken Bonetti, an adviser at CU, said he's interested in attending the student-organized classes and said there is a need to have Churchill's teachings on the campus.

Ward is getting another year’s salary and...
CU can easily ban terminated employees from campus. In this instance, it’s simply a case of “won’t” instead of “can’t.”
Hello? Call security and remove him bodily?
I thought that was his original job title.
With this guy, I’m so pleased to learn he actually got fired.
I think the old rail and run out of town should be next.
“deliberate academic-misconduct violations, including plagiarism and fabrication.”
Wow, so some students are flocking to his new class even though he’s a professionally proven liar.
That’s some hard core anti-Americanism there.
Churchill was found guilty of deliberate false assertions, misrepresentation of sources, and plagiarism.
Among other things, Churchill was found guilty of passing off others’ work as his own (plagiarism), but also of passing off his own work as others’.
This “permits the author to create the false appearance that his claims are supported by other scholars when, in fact, he is the only source for such claims”...

Shower mold and pond scum are the hardest things to remove.
They miss their daily fix of anti-Americanism. Traitors one and all! Demonstrates how public education is ruining this country, in the hands of the lib...sorry, progressives.
Taze him, Bro.
CU can easily ban terminated employees from campus. In this instance, its simply a case of wont instead of cant.
I wish the Alumni from all the Universities would stop contributing to these universities who are run by blatant leftists until they quit being so anti american. I can’t believe that young adults are being taught by such fakes as Churchill.
It's basically just a club meeting. He isn't teaching classes no matter how they and spin it. People attending his little meetings get no credit from the college for attending.
If people want to gather to him despite the well documented fact that he is a liar, I guess that's their choice.
If the University goes out of their way to keep him off of campus, some will see that as evidence that they persecuted him for expressing his views.
Like all conceited liberal liars, he thrives on attention. Ignore him. Interest in his little meetings will wane quickly when it fails to provoke a response.
Just ignore him.

Since his crimes were academic in nature this isn’t that much worse than a lot of the other speakers on college campuses... he’s even better than some.
I’m sure they know it makes the University look bad but since almost anybody can speak on a campus they likely don’t want the hassle that comes with banning him and getting accused of suppressing his free speech.
There is a need for his fabrications and plagiarism? How interesting!
Is he still doing his “Indian” shtick?
Some students are pretty slow learners.
I believe you have my classroom.....
Any “student” who wastes time listening to his crapola probably deserves “teachers” like Churchill.
Colorado continues to implode, but Ward Churchill still being brought up in public helps conservatives everywhere.
