WEARE A father attacked his daughter's boyfriend last week after learning the boy had sex with the underage girl, police said.
It was about 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, when the man stormed onto the grounds of John J. Stark High School and beat up the 17-year-old from Henniker. School was just letting out, and many students witnessed the attack, said Detective Lou Chatel.
The boy suffered bruising and later received two stitches to his face.
The father was charged with simple assault, a Class B felony.
Police said the boy is dating the man's 15-year-old daughter.
The man discovered the two had had sex earlier that day, during school hours but not on school property, police said.
Under state law, a 15-year-old cannot consent to sex; therefore, police are investigating the allegation as a sexual assault.
The New Hampshire Union Leader has a policy of not identifying sexual assault victims. For that reason, the newspaper is not identifying the father.
Both students attend John Stark High School. The girl lives in Weare.
Chatel said there have been no arrests in the sex case, but he expects there will be.
Me neither.
Anyhow, depending on the facts of the case, I probably would not vote to convict the father. There is still a lot unknown here.
Some minors are just minors.
Then there was the 17 year old crack dealer up the street who knew every vile trick in the book. He was mean as hell and threatened women and others in the neighborhood.
The word minor is like the designation white person or black person. There is a world of difference among blacks or whites. So also there is a world of difference among minors.
My older sister left home at 17 and never returned. I did the same.
Daughters do appreciate it when their parents protect them, when they let them know that they are priceless and worthy of protection. You do this from the cradle, so they don't feel a need to find affection in the arms of a male at 15.
Daughters also like to feel safe. When dad's finished taking his anger out on boyfriend, will she be next? If dad can't control his temper in public, will he in private?
Two daughters one son.
“Girls at that age can be easy pickings for them.”
If a fifteen year-old girl is ‘easy pickings’ it’s probably because she chose to be. A fifteen year-old is not a child. And we are talking about consent, not some near date rape committed by an older boy. I’m strictly talking about girls who willingly enter into a sexual relationship.
It sounds as if you’re talking about something closer to actual rape than the age difference of the mutually consenting. If a girl can say the word “NO”, she won’t be ‘easy pickings’. If anything happens after that, then we’re dealing with actual rape.
I agree this 'after the fact' action is not legal. However if he'd caught the boyfriend either in the act or just before, then force is justified to prevent a crime. In this case, statutory rape.
One might THINK that they can teach their children right from wrong in all situations. It’s not, however, that simple. Youngsters can runs up against a situation about which they—in their inexperienced way—might think something along the lines of, “It’s different for me” or “He loves me more than my mother/father could possibly understand” or “Things have changed since Mom/Dad were young.”
They’re too young to realize that we really DO know what we’re talking about.
I do believe fathers should protect their daughters. I don’t think what he did protected her. It put her in the news, it brought him up on felony charges. That isn’t being very protective in my book.
I actually think the father went too far, but I don’t think he will serve time. If the 17 year old had been seriously injured then the dad would probably serve some time, but two stitches and some bruises probably won’t bother a jury too much.
This will be plead down to some type lesser offense and the dad will be sentenced to probation and community service. The 17 year old will probably never see any charges at all because these cases are difficult to prosecute also.
Agreed, the father and uncle of the boy who was hit are more worried that the 17 year old boy will get HIV from bending over in prison for the next five or ten years.
And... he will probably prefer bending over after being in prison for that ong.
We can “what if?” anything to death. There’s nothing to indicate Dad is abusive to his daughter, to the contrary he is protective of her. I’m sorry you grew up with events in your house to cause you to leave at age 17. That doesn’t happen to everyone.
A 17 year old is not a child.
Way to go Dad ! Good on ya ...
Maybe she only perform fellatio. In which case the boy did not have "sexual relations with that women"
Wow. Thoughtful argument. Your rhetorical skills humble me.

Hey, reverse this situation. And I assure you it does happen fairly often.
The girl was seventeen, and she had sex with a fifteen year-old boy. Then an irate mom went to the school and attacked the older slut who raped her sweet and innocent, virginal fifteen year-old son.
And keep in mind, girl’s mature sooner than boys, which probably makes this even worse.
The father is an adult. His legal option was to call the police and file charges, leading to the arrest of the 17 year old for statutory rape. When the father took the law into his own hands, he set himself up for a slam-dunk prosecution for battery. My old grandfater used to say, "Two 'wrongs' do not make a 'right'."
But..but..but..Nick some will say "what about the law?" Well campers, the "law" didn't keep this young man who is nearly old enough to go to Iraq from doing what he did with a CHILD. I wonder what ever happend to real people with will character doing something about injustice? You know, the old "right and wrong" thing we used to have some sense about around here. That was until a bunch of folks decided that they were lawyers and have to point to "section 3, whatever" of the penal code and scream "see! see! see!" He can't do that!
I say give the guy a damn medal. Make him mayor. Elect him to office!
"But he took the law in to his own hands! Nick!" To that I say so what? In some cases it's justifiable and required. Note the words some cases. Remember the insipid little girl that was supposedly running the state of Florida recently? When some monster wanted to kill the daughter of some loving parents the SOB just stood by and pointed "to the law". Instead of doing the right thing and saying "screw this" and sending the troops in to save that girl he pointed to the sign next to the lake that said "no swimming", shrugged his shoulders and said "that's the law" and then let her "drown". And that inaction, by the way, shows the real metal and character of that entire family, including his brother in the WH who has the habit of ignoring laws himself which have resulted in some folks getting a lot more than a few stitches.
I don't like it when someone messes with a CHILD. It pisses me off. Good for the father!
That's my rant and I'm not a bit sorry for it!
I’m glad I don’t have kids.
