George Soros: The Man, The Mind And The Money Behind MoveOn
IBD ^ | September 20, 2007

Posted on 09/20/2007 7:25:34 PM PDT by Kaslin

The Left: The smear ad published against Gen. Petraeus has drawn attention to its sponsor, MoveOn.org. But the fingerprints of the group's chief financial backer, George Soros, were all over it. Who is this man and what is he up to?

o read Soros' own spun story, he's a Jewish survivor of Nazi-occupied Hungary who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, studied economics in England, became a U.S. citizen in 1961 and made a multibillion-dollar fortune as a financier who pioneered hedge funds.

Over the years, Soros has written books giving his philosophical take on global affairs and acquired a reputation as something of a "stateless statesman." He calls himself a philanthropist and has given away $5 billion of his now $8.5 billion fortune through his principal vehicle, the Open Society Institute. The institute, in turn, has passed cash on to far more radical groups, such as MoveOn.org.

She gets it “in kind” through the “Center for American Progress” which is run by John Podesta, Bill Clinton’s former Chief of Staff. The Center is her transition team in-waiting.

> Didn't he say he once thought he was God or something, like John Lennon?

Soros apparently thinks he's God. But all John Lennon did was remark that the Beatles had become more popular than Jesus (in England at the time, it was probably accurate). His off-hand comment was twisted and mis-reported, and people over-reacted like crazy.

He commented on that later, saying:

"I suppose if I had said television was more popular than Jesus, I would have got away with it... I just said [the Beatles] are having more influence on kids and things than anything else, including Jesus... I wasn't knocking it or putting it down. I was just saying it as a fact, and it's true more for England than here. I'm not saying that we're better or greater, or comparing us with Jesus Christ as a person or God as a thing, or whatever it is...

"I'm sorry I said it really. I never meant it to be a lousy anti-religious thing. I apologise if that will make you happy. I still don't know quite what I've done. I've tried to tell you what I did do, but if you want me to apologise, if that will make you happy, then OK, I'm sorry."

Most Christian organizations accepted his explanation and apology, though a few did not. Anyway, whatever else Lennon did that you might not like, he didn't say or think that he was God. Just for the record, you understand.

Soros, on the other hand, DOES think he's God, and is not likely to apologize for anything.

but when you read or listen to Lennon's commentary on the song "Strawberry Fields," he mentions wondering about being God.

Anyway, as an act, far and away, it's the Beatles over Soros.

yes...there was news of Hsu's collapsing investment vehicles...probably once he started to take the fall, his leftwing-money "friends" thew him to the wolves.

Yeah, that sounds most plausible.

Wonder if we'll all be alive when the awful wicked truth of the Clinton machine is ever aired.

Given the subject matter of SF and the certainty (despite early protestations similar to those about Lucy in the Sky that the song(s) have nothing to do with drugs, specifically LSD) that hallucinogens were involved, I don't doubt he wondered about being God. Having insights into divine nature is pretty common when tripping one's brains out.

I don't think that's quite the same meaning as Soros' statement. ;-)

Soros so called hedge funds were used to arbitrage currency, (exploit value differences), in third and forth world countries. After the fall of communism in eastern Europe this was very disruptive, hurting and slowing these struggling countries economies. Calling him philanthropist is like calling Satan an Angel. It is technically correct, but both use their power for evil purposes.

*I will never in a million years understand why someone like Soros who escaped Communism and Nazism, then fled to the USA to make billions embracing Capitalism and Freedom, would then turn around and support Communism and Socialism.*

Power.

This creep is also behind funding the evil National Council of Churches which is nothing more than another left-wing, radical cause which has fooled many.

Thanks, EPP.

Here’s a better way to approach it: http://www.frontpagemag.com/Default.aspx

Search the term ‘Soros’ from FrontPage’s front page.

Apologies to all for the URL, but it is there.

Flashback!! Haven’t been hearing too much about Soros or MoveOn.scum in recent months. Have I just missed it, have they gone underground, or are they really less active than in recent years?
