***Thanks for all the wonderful pictures of the Best President in my life time. :-)***
Mine, too. And the most courageous.
My pleasure
THE PRESIDENT CONDUCTED ANOTHER BRILLIANT PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY (even though he’s obviously still recovering from a cold or the flu — probably a result of his ‘world’ travels)!!
MUST READ . . .
BUSH VS. MOVEON
The president chastises Democratic leaders for their silence on the MoveOn ad.
by William Kristol

PRESIDENT BUSH MET with ten or so columnists Wednesday afternoon for over an hour, answering questions on a wide variety of topics. Much of what the president said was, naturally, familiar; and some of his most interesting comments and reflections he put off-the-record. But there was at least one on-the-record answer by the president that should make news. For the first time, President Bush weighed in on the debate over the MoveOn.org ad that accused Gen. Petraeus of “cooking the books” and “betray[ing] us,” chastising Democrats for their failure to condemn the ad.

WHAT WE’VE ACCOMPLISHED
Nine months of progress.
by Frederick W. Kagan
09/19/2007 4:39:00 PM
SENATORS LEVIN AND REID have introduced an amendment that would order the immediate withdrawal of American forces in Iraq—a stampede, in fact, that would require the military to pull 169,000 soldiers and their equipment out of active combat within nine months. There is no way that such a withdrawal would look like anything other than a rout and a humiliation for American arms. Such a proposal can only be supported on the premise that our efforts in Iraq to date have failed utterly and that there is no hope of protecting vital American interests in Iraq through the current strategy. That premise results from willful blindness. American and Iraqi successes in pursuing our joint and individual vital interests over the past nine months have been nothing short of staggering. The attempts of war critics to focus the discussion entirely on the failures of the Iraqi central government are disingenuous, almost dishonest, when they ignore these incredible, and in many cases, unexpected achievements.

Thanks, it’s perfect
Conservatives won’t appreciate what he has done until he is gone.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Aw, you did the toaster over for Kas. That was nice of you.
This is a review of DEAD CERTAIN that I recently provided for a friend of mine who was trying to decide whether or not to purchase the book:
“As long as you understand that the author is at the very least a de facto Democrat who, as a matter of course, took rhetorical potshots at Cheney, Rove and Rumsfeld while offering predictable paeans to Powell, Joe Biden, Lindsey Graham (when he made critical comments about the President) , the UN, and the MSM. He also spent almost twice as much time on Katrina as he did 911 and ZERO time providing any insight into the President’s relationship with his beloved Laura (the President must have made this an ‘off limits’ topic) . . . His patronizing psychoanalysis of the President was also ‘barf’ inducing; surprisingly enough, however, he didn’t do as much of this as I anticipated and actually managed to remain ‘fair and balanced’ 60% - 70% of the time. BOTTOM LINE: WHEN THE BOOK WAS GOOD IT WAS VERY GOOD — WHEN IT WAS BAD IS WAS VERY BAD! [It has really whetted my appetite for an ACCURATE, TRULY INSIGHTFUL BOOK from either KARL ROVE or TONY SNOW (or both)!]”

The book I absolutely, unequivocally recommend is WORLD WAR IV by Norman Podhoretz — an UNABASHED supporter of our courageous and visionary President! [I’ve read parts of the book and plan to read in completely within the week . . . I’ll post relevant excerpts then!]

Appreciate all you & the other Dose posters do on a regular basis.
Who knows the details on the new dog? a gift from someone special I am guessing
I have said the same thing to Snugs myself. Her knowledge of the US and the political system here is astounding. Plus, she is exceptionally kind to boot!
Great comment, kitkat. He is just amazing, isn't he?!
Thank you SO much for Sanity Island, Snugs! It is a real
haven in these crazy days of a DIM Congress who do nothing
but go against everything we believe in!
I love our “Man of a Thousand Faces” and sure will miss
them when he gets to “retire”. I surely dread that day!
I saw a photo of a dog on another thread that was referred to a new dog but that is all I have seen
Oh, that’s right! Craig is from Idaho. Hope Johannes won’t be a goober like Hagel has turned out to be.
Thanks, snugs .. W was SO fantastic at the presser today. He’s SO adept and masterful in his answers. If “they” only realized just how brilliant he is. We do .. he keeps fooling ‘em, and he just kills them with kindness. What a man! He is Barbara’s son.
And .. what new dog?
yeah, it’s pretty sad when our democrat senator is more of a conservative than the rublican...
I’m reading it...and you are right. I loved The Faith of George W Bush...this book kinda sucks. I mean give me a break...he starts the book off with McCain’s victory in NH over W. I mean that got me sour from the get go. Tell your friend to get from the library...it’s not a book I’d buy.
