"If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any god -" Emmy winner Sally Field said before the Emmycast cut her off her sound and pointed the camera away from the stage so viewers would be distracted. Cut off were the words "g-d d--ned wars in the first place."
"This belongs to all the mothers of the world - may they be seen and valued," she added when she won best actress in a drama series for her work as matriarch Nora Walker on "Brothers & Sisters."

Really the Flying Nun shouldn't be swearing on live TV. I gather the awards are on a several second delay to guard against profanity, not anti-war speeches. Still, tomorrow's big "scandal", picking on Sally.

But I like this comment.

A real lady would never use that kind of language in private, let alone in front of millions of people. Sally Fields is no lady. (Besides - she hemmed and hawed for a painful minute or two, trying to remember what she wanted to say about the war - stuttering and stammering, before she blurted out the vulgarity.) She obviously doesn't realize what a loser she became in many people's eyes, tonight. Shame on you, Sally.
