Large teams of newly trained suicide bombers are being sent to the United States and Europe, according to evidence contained on a new videotape obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com.
Teams assigned to carry out attacks in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany were introduced at an al Qaeda/Taliban training camp graduation ceremony held June 9.
A Pakistani journalist was invited to attend and take pictures as some 300 recruits, including boys as young as 12, were supposedly sent off on their suicide missions.
The tape shows Taliban military commander Mansoor Dadullah, whose brother was killed by the U.S. last month, introducing and congratulating each team as they stood.
"These Americans, Canadians, British and Germans come here to Afghanistan from faraway places," Dadullah says on the tape. "Why shouldn't we go after them?"
The leader of the team assigned to attack Great Britain spoke in English.
"So let me say something about why we are going, along with my team, for a suicide attack in Britain," he said. "Whether my colleagues, companions and Muslim brothers die today or tonight, every drop of our blood will invigorate the Muslim (unintelligible)."
U.S. intelligence officials described the event as another example of "an aggressive and sophisticated propaganda campaign."
Others take it very seriously.
"It doesn't take too many who are willing to actually do it and be able to slip through the net and get into the United States or England and cause a lot of damage," said ABC News consultant Richard Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism official.

Yes, it was weird. Had it reset to 9/11, I’d have probably really freaked out though.
Actually, I’m having the problem every few days now. Either the date or the time on the computer resets. I’ve never had that before in all my years of owning computers. Today, the date was fine, but the time was 15 minutes off.
With my luck, this probably means my hard drive is on it’s way out or something. ~groan~

Peshawar, Sept 2 (ANI): Unidentified people, believed to be pro-Taliban militants have distributed pamphlets threatening public transporters in Swat district of NWFP from playing music and displaying obscene pictures in their vehicles, failing which their vehicles would be blown up.
The threatening pamphlets were delivered at the Matta Bus Stand in Swat and said: “Stop playing music and remove obscene photos from your vehicles or face bomb attacks.”
Earlier, on Wednesday, unidentified militants blew up six music shops in Ishaq Market and partially damaged 20 nearby shops and three houses after issuing warnings to shop owners in the area to stop their “un-Islamic” business.
Non-government organisations (NGOs) have already shut their offices in the region after receiving threatening letters, while representatives of pharmaceutical companies have stopped wearing trousers in the Swat Valley after the militants warned them to wear local dresses.
Barbers have also displayed big posters in front of their shops stating, “Un-Islamic activities like shaving and western hair fashion are forbidden.”
Unidentified militants had earlier warned the barbers to stop shaving customers failing which their shops would be bombed.
This is not the first time that militants have warned men in the agency areas and the bordering regions of the NWFP not to shave beards.
Soon after the local Taliban established their offices in North and South Waziristan, they enforced a strict Islamic code, making it compulsory for the men to sport beards.
In Bajaur tribal agency, the militants levied a fine of Rs 5000 on barbers found providing shaving services to customers.
Militants have also put a ban on all sorts of entertainment, including the sale of music and films, and replaced the traditional jirga in most parts of the agency areas with Islamic courts.
Other diktats warning government officials from collecting tax, male doctors from carrying on ultrasound tests on female patients, and NGOs from carrying out social work in the agency areas have also been issued.
According to a Daily Times report, militants have also distributed letters in Khawaza Khela Bazaar in Swat warning women not to shop in the market, as it is against Pashtun and Islamic norms.
The letter said that the bazaar was located near a shrine and business activity by men and women would amount to its desecration. They warned that the bazaar would be bombed if women were not stopped from coming there.

My own guess is that the six initial tones are a countdown and the detonation on the sixth tone marks the sixth anniversary.

MOSUL, Iraq – Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division captured a known key al-Qaeda in Iraq financier in Nineveh province, and his associate, Sept. 3, during an operation in Mosul.
Both men were positively identified as al-Qaeda in Iraq members by the 2-2-2 IA and one admitted to the arresting Soldiers that he is a key AQI financier and negotiates with families for the release of victims kidnapped by AQI for extortion.
Found in the suspects’ vehicle were funds totaling over 250 million Iraqi Dinar (in excess of $200,000 USD), as well as multiple IDs and correspondence.
“The capture of these men by the Iraqi Army, and loss of the financing they provided, will be felt by all those who profit from kidnapping and crimes against the people of Nineveh province,” said Lt. Col. Jeff Stewart, executive officer, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. “Our brothers in the Iraqi Security Forces have struck a blow directly against the terrorists and criminals who threaten Iraqi citizens and the rule of law.”

May 14, 2007 - As many as five or six U.S. air marshals are now assigned to each U.S.-bound flight from airports in Frankfurt, London and Manchester, England, because of fears terrorists might attempt a coordinated series of mid-air explosions, law enforcement officials tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com. “We’re afraid someone in the back is going to mix something or light something up, so air marshals are being placed strategically through the plane,” said one senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the stepped-up security. The stepped-up security on flights out of Britain’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports began about two weeks ago, based on intelligence reports that another al Qaeda hijacking plot was in the making, the officials said. . .
“The intelligence was that there are plans to take a plane and crash it in a high-density, high-profile place,” one official told ABCNews.com. The official said the timing and identity of the “high-profile place” was not contained in the intelligence reports. . .
U.S. officials said that an al Qaeda-connected cell in southwest Germany had been under 24-hour surveillance since the beginning of the year after some of its members were detected conducting surveillance on the headquarters of the U.S. European Command at Patch Barracks, near Stuttgart. The cell, officials said, is made up of members of the Islamic Jihad Group, a violent terrorist organization based in Uzbekistan. . .

Al Qaeda has a new opening graphic for its propaganda tapes: the U.S. Capitol under “attack.”
“The Islamic State of Iraq...March Toward Washington” reads the headline in English superimposed over a digitally created scene of the U.S. Capitol under attack in the introductory sequence of one tape released on the Internet this week.
Another from al Qaeda’s “as Sahab” production arm announces “Holocaust of the Americans in the Land of Khorasan” and shows an image of the U.S. Capitol to introduce a short clip of al Qaeda fighters.
“This is a disturbing new trend,” says Laura Mansfield, an Arabic expert who monitors jihadi videos on the Internet. “Recall that in January 2006, Osama Bin Laden said that plans for attacks in the U.S. were in progress,” Mansfield told the Blotter on ABCNews.com. “It may be that this new imagery is designed to motivate terrorist activity in the U.S., but it is certainly intended as a recruiting tool and perhaps intended to reassure al Qaeda’s jihadi followers they haven’t forgotten their goal of an al Qaeda attack on Washington, D.C.,” she said.

Wellll....it was one of those near a theater pipe bombs. Theaters are entertainment. Leos and alphabets are probably still looking into this.

Telephone bomb threat suspect tied to other cases, sources say
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The man suspected in the recent rash of telephoned bomb threats to businesses across the United States has been tied to other crimes, including a Miami Beach, Florida, bank robbery and a wire fraud case in New York, law enforcement sources said Wednesday.
Two federal officials familiar with the investigation said the suspect is 27-year-old Portuguese citizen Allan Sharif.

Sharif is not a stranger to federal law enforcement officials. The Secret Service sought him on wire fraud charges for which he was indicted in New York in 2005, authorities said. The fugitive-hunting U.S. Marshals Service also acknowledged their interest in pursuing Sharif but declined to provide details.
