A verdict was reached Thursday in the trial of Jose Padilla and two co-defendants charged with supporting al-Qaida and other violent Islamic extremist groups overseas. The jury verdict was scheduled to be read at 2 p.m. EDT before U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke in Miami's downtown federal courthouse, according to an announcement from her chambers. The jury of seven men and five women deliberated for about a day and a half following a three-month trial.

Padilla, Adham Amin Hassoun and Kifah Wael Jayyousi face possible life in prison if convicted of all three charges in the case

I only drink on Friday and Saturday so I’ll have to revist the posts then. Sober they scare me frankly. Sure, at first I chuckle, but then I think, people really think this...

After being held for more than five years as an enemy combatant and whose Habeas Corpus case was decided by the Supreme Court, Padilla got his day in American courts.

The federal prosecutors forced to amend preferred charges against Padilla and his cohorts, presented their case for three months at a trial before an American Jury. The defense argued translation problems, challenged venue, alleged Command Influence, which was denied as the matter was not tried before a military court, therefore not applicable.

The defense charged racism, nativism, patriotism, anti-Islamism, illegal search and seizure and martyrism against the prosecution's procedures and the court's action.

The trial lasted three months....and after final arguments, the jury was instructed in the law by the presiding judge and retired to deliberations on Tuesday afternoon. The jury was to be sequestered until they reached a verdict.

A Foreman of the jury was selected and the jury agenda set;

Foreman; Where do we want to go here.....for dinner? And What's the movie tonight at the hotel? I propose we get in a pleasant evening with dinner and a movie before we wrap this up.

Jurors #s 6,8,2,10 and 3 seconded in unison and jurors #s 1, 4, ,12, 6 and 11 studied the movie options and menu, finally coming to a decision, relenting to the intense pressures in the deliberation room avoiding a hung jury.

Hey, you just hit on something there, GD!

I haven’t seen a wild eyed, frothing, 9/11 was a plot, type of raging rant from that fugly dyke, splattered all over the front pages of the drive by media yet.

What are they waiting for? - I’m serious.

I want a Presidential Debate next Summer moderated by Michelle...would be a hoot.... and will never happen. Even most Repubs are scared to death of her.

Her and Ann Coulter as moderators would be incredible...Throw in Lou Dobbs for “balance”....heheheh

I’m surprised that the two left wing twins of hate of America, who were separated at birth, Rosie and Michael Moore are not mourning in public.

They view Padilla as a revolutionary hero.

The only thing that bothers me about this entire mess...the guy was a US citizen...guaranteed various rights from the start...with no exceptions that can waivered or tossed out from the constitution. The delay in the court case...the solitary confinement...all lead the case into appeals court where we can guess that he will walk free within twelve months. The Bush dimwits handled this case entirely wrong from the start and basically tossed the constitution out the front door...which makes me wonder what other things they wouldn’t want to go by.

And before folks jump on me about the seriousness of the case...I am retired AF...who can remember a period around 1990 which the AF made a big deal about the constitution and had thousands of posters and information packets pumped out to teach its members about constitutional rights. I’m like alot of those guys who remember all of that...and kinda wonder where these Bush exceptions really come from? The guy was in the wrong and it should have been handled properly from the start...but it never was. Now I’m wondering if there was something else about Padilla that they never spoke about...and this is all a game in the first place.

“Now relocated to Denver!”

You and George 76 should get together to figure out ways to torment the liberals in Colorado like using conservative billboards.

"torment the liberals in Colorado like using conservative billboards."

There are a gazillion LIBS in CO. I barely recognize the state anymore.

What is there to say to the US Government other then “what took you so long”?—why hold Mr. Padilla for years and say he can’t have a trial then after losing their denial of habeas corpus case in court for so long the US Govt. magically grew a pair of cajones and prosecuted the SOB—and actually won a conviction for once.

What’s being tortured here in all of this is the rule of law, the Constitution and the taxpayer/citizen. Needlessly. Is this the best we can do in prosecuting the war? The weak link seems to be the US Attorney and the Military tribunals. This case perfectly illustrates the stumbling, bumbling, and fumbling thats been going on with the ineffective prosecution of the war.

Bush is a globalist. No Nation's Constitution or laws will stand in the way of Bush's daddy's "New World Order."

End of story!

Wow MrB, I personally have never heard that theory of Padilla being connected to the OKC bombing before... And, I’ve read a LOT about it too (OKC and the Padilla case when it first came up)! I admit the pictures of the sketch, and Padilla are VERY close... Very interesting to say the least. Do you have any links to more information about this?

I for one, would be very relieved to hear that the government (FBI) wasn’t really ignoring the evidence in the OKC case. It’s a shame they couldn’t be more honest about it though... Then again, it’d be awfully hard to explain to the public why McVeigh, and Nichols were the only ones charged. Still... [ sigh ]

As for the cover-up, mimaw. I would suggest reading “The Third Terrorist” by Jayna Davis. She has done incredible research, and the insights and proof she has is undeniable when it comes to a link between Islamic terrorists and OKC. Incidently, there are also links between those involved in the OKC bombing and fringe characters that showed up in the media following the OU bombing in Norman, Oklahoma as well... Some had businesses in OKC, and then moved to Norman. Rte66 and I found some very interesting things when doing simple research online into these “fringe” characters who were not shy spouting off their opinions about the whole situation and calling for an end to speculation about Islamic Terrorism in the guise of “racism” and “intolerance”...

WHY they are covering this up, has yet to be revealed though. There are a lot of theories, but nothing solid, as far as i’m aware. It has been a while since I delved into this issue though (right after the OU Bombing I did a lot of research and it all points to Oklahoma City, and Norman, Oklahoma, and the 9/11 terrorists as well).

OK, I’m off to get through more of this thread.

Ping to the OU Bombing list... (Wow, 2 pings in one day after like a year of no pings!!! I’ll bet some of you forgot you were on this list! LOL If you’d like off, just let me know.)

I’m thinking now that almost everyone has heard the speculation of Jose Padilla being John Doe #2 from the OKC bombing, but me! LOL

In Post #176 I mentioned the ties to the OU Bombing and the OKC Bombing in some stuff Rte66 and I found while investigating going through criminal and business records and such... (Much thanks to Rte66 who found the sites in the first place! She really did a LOT of great research!)

If anyone has anything further to add I would appreciate it. It’s been a while since I’ve gone through my info on the OU Bombing and it’s not fresh in my head anymore! (o:

You’ve GOT to be f***ing kidding me, pardon my French. This guy is a damn terrorist. I don’t care if he’s a redheaded white Irish guy, he’s a terrorist.

The liberals in this country are so far beyond delusional.
