God bless that soldier and his family. I too hope that God makes clear His plan for Sam soon, and that he recovers fully.I pray He gives the family strength and resolve they will need to get through what’s ahead, and that Sam receives the full measure of God’s healing grace.

Im a day late, but prayers [are] going up now. It's never too late. Sgt. Nichols and his family will be in need of prayer support for quite some time, as he is still in a coma. Thank and bless you; and stop back whenever you can.

Sgt. Nichols Update: August 7, 2007
Dear FRiends,
I want to thank all of you who have joined in prayer for Sgt. Samuel Nichols. Prayers have been posted here from more than 30 states and several countries; some of you have posted more than once. Bless you for keeping this outstanding Marine in your hearts.
Yesterday and today, three DC Chapter prayer warriors went in person to Bethesda Naval Hospital to visit Sgt. Nichols and his family two on Monday and another two on Tuesday (one went both days, with a different companion each day).
On both days, the first step was to meet with Sam's wife Erin, his father and his uncle, who are steadfast in trusting God and praying for a miracle. All became better acquainted, testified about their faith and prayed together.
The next step was to "gown up" and enter the critical care unit. This place was a beehive of urgent activity, sights alarming to the ordinary consciousness, and medical beeps. There were many wounded Marines, each in an open bay surrounded by medical personnel giving attentive care.
Permission was granted for a brief intercession for Sgt. Nichols. Hands were laid on Sam, a tall, strong-looking young man who is in a deep coma, but appears to be in a deep sleep; and intercessory prayers were quietly spoken close to his ear. Today's intercessor reported feeling a flow of energy in his body.
FRiends, this healing will require, and will bring together, mighty hearts in the weeks to come. I know we FReepers and our personal prayer chains, veterans' organizations and congregations will hold the Nichols's in our prayers. The family is a mixture of Catholics, Protestants and Evangelicals, united in the universal church of Jesus Christ and galvanized by this call to mobilize the healing power of His promises.
Some of us do not readily witness aloud to religious beliefs. Therefore,
we pray first and foremost for assurance of Sgt. Nichols' salvation.
Next, as you have been doing, we pray for complete healing, and for the continued courage, solace and unwavering faith of his wife and family members.
We pray for grace and mercy for his men and comrades still in Iraq, as well as all members of his extended family and friends.
We lift up his medical caregivers and administrators, praying that the Holy Spirit guides every interaction, so that "all things work together for good."
We pray that all needed resources are supplied.
And we pray for all our wounded troops at Bethesda, Walter Reed, Landstuhl, and any other U.S. military facility.
In Jesus' holy name,
Amen!
Thank you for your prayers.
If you would NOT like to receive further updates,
FReepmail me, no questions asked.
